Royal Wedding - Prince William to Marry Kate Middleton
-
TV already showing souvenir items already on sale - Royal Crown Derby in production of dedicated high quality items. The back-room boys have been working their slide-rules overtime and are forecasting the wedding will be worth £620 Million ($1 Billion) to the UK economy. The income tax derived from all that business wil more than pay any related public expenses incurred as a consequence of the event - policing etc etc. Indeed UK Ltd will show a healthy profit Martin

Point of order for wedding watchers... Having seen the Royal Crown Derby feature on Breakfast TV now. Their centre piece of their Souvenir Wares is a monogram of the letters W and C interwoven - not K for Kate. Kate's proper name is Catherine and pundits are already touting the formal title Princess Catherine. On a slightly cheaper note, Asda (owned by Walmart) put a cheapo souvenir engagement mug on sale at midnight comprising a photo from the press footage and the words William and Kate plus the engagement date. Here's a Daily Mail web-article showing many of the items: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1330443/Kate-Middleton-Prince-William-Royal-wedding-mania-memorabilia-rush.html Martin

Again, my morning news was fraught with this wedding piffle.
Another reported side effect of this news is that thousands of young men are running scared as their girlfriends start collecting copies of "Wedding" magazine, supposedly because it has Will and Kate stories, and loitering in front of jewellery store windows. One BBC Sports reporter is openly talking about the grief he's getting at home at the moment. You aren't hiding the papers and switching channels quickly at home are you? Martin

It's not even piffle, it's piffle lite! I hope they're very happy together but that's where my interest ends. As far as i'm concerned, the Royal family are an important tourist attraction and little more.

CBS News reported that Prince Charles will contribute about $75 million for the expenses. It's his money, of course, but ... DAMN!!!! Absurd!

With so many people barely making it these days, thaose are the kind of details I'd keep low-pro if it were myself.

I`m British, and I am the only one in my office, staffed only with Brits, who isn`t interested. I`m just hoping we get an extra day off work!

Well, I just read that the banks will be closed. Why am I not getting this? It's not like it's Paul & Linda -- now THAT'S hype-worthy love!

I'm getting it There's going to be a day of celebration, the Prime Minister has indicated it will be likely a bank holiday (subject to the will of Parliament who determine these things). The groom's father has supposedly offered a significant donation to the event costs. UK Britain Ltd stands to receive £630 Million pounds worth of extra business as a consequence generating approx £100 million in tax revenue which far outweighs the event costs. Socialists, Republicans, Anarchists and all those disinterested in the event will still get a public holiday here in the UK - unless they'd like to work on principle and pass the extra income to a charity of their own choice ( just my own personal suggestion ) Seems like a win-win situation from where I'm sitting.... So you have to flip a few paper pages, web pages and TV channels and dodge meaningful hints, prompts and glances from your girlfriends who get swept up in the romance of it all. But no different to the loyal patience shown to you as you all follow your favoured hobbies, sports etc 24/7 /365 the rest of your life. The Royal Family may be an ancient anachronism but they stand head and shoulders above the glam and glitz of Hollywood's finest and the sports superstars that usually dominate the gossip/celebrity column inches. This couple may not get to be King and Queen until very late in my lifetime, but they will do so, hopefully for many years, in my children's life and this event will be very significant, second only to future Coronations of Williams Father and subsequently William himself, so I intend to ensure they squeeze every ounce of educational and historical value from the event by marking it in an appropriate manner. Pleased to see that you have noticed this, Martin. When William and Kate publicly announced their engagement, I noted some representatives from the media addressing Kate as Catherine. Although I had always known Kate's given name to be Catherine, I was truly surprised when I heard the representatives immediately addressing her as Catherine, rather than Kate. I felt as though I had witnessed some sort of transformation. I also had the strong sense that William had well prepared Kate for this, as she never faltered during the announcement. It was not only nice, but interesting to see this...very well done!

Triplets Love Paul:
Prince William and Kate Middleton are engaged! The wedding will take place in the spring or summer of 2011. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-11765422 Congratulations to the beautiful couple! May they experience a lifetime of happiness together!
They look comfortable together. That's a very good start. Hope they are very happy together. Apparently Kate really is a "commoner." When Wm's parents wed in the US, the media said Diana was a commoner. Not so. Could never understand how a commoner could be calle LADY something or other. Sure sounded like a title to me, but what do I know? Our country got rid of all that years ago

Well, is it his money? What is he doing for a living? The royals are probably the only thing I don't understand about England!

No matter what, Williams Windsor seems to be a nice and smart man but ever since I knew who he was I wished for him that he never has to go through what his late mother had to go through! Or that he has to be king one day! The whole thing in Britain seems so dreadful! At least he's allowed to marry who he wants to marry! That's a start! But I feel kinda sorry for him and his fiancee! What a horrible media circus! They're turning this into another "Diana-show"! Lets just hope that it doesn't end in another tragedy! A bank holiday for a royal wedding! What year is it in Britain and where are the beheadings going to take place to mark the occasion?

Another reason they make such a big deal out of it, of course, he's going to be the future King of England and also the wedding is expected to 'generate over one billion pounds" for England. They're already coming out with some tacky merchandise. Not all of it tacky, one hopes. CBS got that WRONG, must have done--Prince Charles providing 75 million dollars for the wedding???!!!!! That sounds crazy wrong. Seemed a bit odd that Kate Middleton was escourted to Winchester Cathedral or one of the famed cathedrals, late at night, to check it out as a wedding site. I saw pix of her there checking it out. Well, to be sure she'd been there before, many times. Another English eccentricity, maybe. (?) Which are often endearing, in a way.

Looks like APRIL 29TH 2011 will be a Paul McCartney day for me, i can listen to his music all day and avoid the madness of it all. There's nothing more undignified than all that Royal arse licking, makes me sick.
