Royal Wedding - Prince William to Marry Kate Middleton
-
Well, can't help but have a soft spot for Wills. We watched him grow up step by step, and then saw how he horrifically lost his mum but he didn't go off the rails and has become a fine young man. Also Harry (wilder than Wills, but not a total screw up, far from it). Kate M. had a much better childhood than Princess Diana, so she probably won't let all the publicity turn her head, and the media can't turn her into the most famous woman in the world and all that because she's too level headed and everyone saw what it did to Diana. Is Kate going to be photographed incessantly and on the cover of every magazine like Diana was? Pimped out for the photographers and touted as the number one fashion plate, etc., hounded and nearly driven crazy? And talked about all the time, written about all the time...snarky tabloids trying to dig up dirt... Surely she'll avoid most of the madness. The Royals won't let that happen again. (?) There's the dreaded dutiful aspect--William as England's future King absolutely has to marry and have children, whether he wants to, or not. He seems to want it. Kate M. will have to be a baby factory (and better hop to it quick, she's already twenty eight). Diana all but came right out and said she was deliberately chosen as a potential good breeder to produce a heir and a spare (and she came through).

Looks like APRIL 29TH 2011 will be a Paul McCartney day for me, i can listen to his music all day and avoid the madness of it all. There's nothing more undignified than all that Royal arse licking, makes me sick.
Thanks for the support audi. I don't have a problem with William, just all the media over here and there over doing it with the Royal's, we're not all fans of the institution. It really agitates me that the Royal Wedding gets priority over proper news stories. There's miners in New Zealand probably dead from there disaster out there, and we get as headlines the Royal Wedding date, get the bloody priorities right.

Ahhh, good to know that not only happens over here Whenever something royal is coming up that's all that's on tv here. Luckily our future king got married a while ago so we're done for a while.

Save the Date... Prince William and Kate Middleton will be married on Friday, 29th April 2011 at Westminster Abbey. Bank holiday and long weekend for the UK! http://abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/prince-william-kate-middletons-royal-wedding-date-set/story?id=12221248
Not just a long weekend but two four day weekends back to back, Easter is the 22nd - 25th April and the wedding weekend ends with the May Bank Holiday Monday so runs 29th April - 2nd May inclusive. So for those who get Bank Holidays off, (wedding fan or not ) the prudent application for leave Tuesday 26th - Thursday 28th will secure a period off work from 22nd April to 2nd May - some 11 consecutive days off for the cost of three days leave - bargain Sadly my manager wouldn't entertain a form yesterday as he is not accepting next year leave requests yet and this trick will be common knowledge when he does. Still I have the form prepared for when he does....... Martin

Yes, I read that, too. Wonder if it will happen. couldn't have a better feather in their caps in terms of wedding day replays in addition to immediate impact AT the occasion, imo.
-
It wouldn't be so awful if he gave them a few silly love songs, would it? Why would that tarnish Paul's rep? How would it? It seems innocuous enough. I can see him turning it down though. Yet he did perform at the Queen's Golden Jubilee. He might be in a mood to accept. He and the Queen seem fond of each other

why are they *already* talking about this on the news & on the entertainment shows here in the states? Not about Paul singing but about the wedding?

It's one of the best feel good occasions planned for this year apparently. I for one will be watching. I think Kate is a very bright girl. Wm is lucky to have her, imo.

Why should we even care?
-
Oh man!!! I am counting the days .... wooooo hooooo!!!! Oh yeah yeah ooooopppppoooooppppoooooodleoooooop!!!! I am gonna be glued to the set!!! This is better than the SuperBowl!!! I am going have some beer, wine, champagne or whatever I can find and snacks spread out all around me!!! I am going to DVR the thing and watch it over and over Yeah right Peradventure he could do "We Got Married" .....
-
Now that's the question...what will Macca sing? No na,na,na,na's, hopefully. Not for a wedding.
-
Paul could put so many songs in a hat ..... close his eyes and even pick out something like this:
or this.... or this ........ (a very very many many more) .... -
(sigh) You chose two of his most beautiful works, you weren't a fool about that... Reader, I love him. (from Jane Eyre) By the way--maybe Prince William deserves to have Paul sing for him and Kate on their very special day, just because of what he went through...his Mum taken away from him so soon, too soon, like what happened to Paul Mc. (and John Lennon too, come to think of it). Their mothers gone so soon from their lives.
