That's actually a Police Post and not a box.

I think you'll find your wrong. It was actually referred to as a Police "Post" to differentiate it from the actual boxes.

The actor Terence Bayler has died. Bayler appeared twice in Doctor Who - as Yendom in the 1966 story 'The Ark' and, more famously, as Major Barrington in Patrick Troughton's final story, 'The War Games'. During his lengthy career he appeared in many other television programmes and films including appearing as Leggy Mountbatten in 'The Rutles' which, of course, featured one George Harrison amongst the cast. I think you'll find your wrong. It was actually referred to as a Police "Post" to differentiate it from the actual boxes.

A number of props and costumes from Doctor Who are being sold as part of the Prop Store Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction taking place on September 27th. Items for sale include a Resurrection of the Daleks Shooting Running Order signed by cast members Peter Davison, Janet Fielding, Mark Strickson, Rodney Bewes, Rula Lenska, Terry Molloy and Royce Mills and a Vengeance On Varos Guard Costume. The BBC has confirmed that the new Doctor Who spin off, Class, will feature the current Doctor Peter Capaldi An exclusive World premiere of the first episode will take place at Rich Mix, in London's East End, on Thursday 20 October, the home of Coal Hill Academy, Shoreditch, with doors opening at 6pm. The first two episodes from the series, For Tonight We Might Die and The Coach with the Dragon Tattoo, will be available on the BBC Three channel from Saturday 22nd, which also marks the 10th anniversary of the first episode of Torchwood. Commenting on his involvement with the new Doctor Who spin-off series, Peter Capaldi, said "The Doctor Who family is growing, and it's fantastic to be able to welcome the young new cast of Class in to the Whoniverse"

The Doctor Who production team have won the BAFTA Cymru award for Special and Visual Effects, Titles and Graphics for their work on the Series Nine opener The Magician's Apprentice The Special Effects on the episode were supplied by Real SFX, led by Danny Hargreaves, while the Visual Effects were supplied by Milk VFX. The BBC has confirmed the 2016 Christmas edition of Doctor Who will be called 'The Return of Doctor Mysterio' This year the episode will see The Doctor joining forces with with an investigative journalist, played by Charity Wakefield, and a superhero to save New York from a deadly alien threat. Steven Moffat, Writer and Executive Producer, said: I've always loved superheroes and this Christmas Doctor Who dives into that world. My favourite superhero is Clark Kent. Not Superman, Clark Kent. Canadian actor Justin Chatwin, plays Grant in the special, says: Working with the amazing people at Doctor Who has been one of the most fun and rewarding projects I've ever had the pleasure of being involved with.

Doctor Who showrunner Steven Moffat has confirmed that a scriptwriter from the classic series of the programme will pen a script for the upcoming series. This will be the first time a writer from the original series, which ran from 1963 to 1989, will contribute to the revived series, which was launched in 2005. Moffat announced the news at a panel at New York Comic-Con, and later confirmed it in an interview with Comic Book Resources, although there was no confirmation yet as to whom the writer will be. Other writers already confirmed for the upcoming series include Frank Cottrell-Boyce, who wrote the 2014 story 'In The Forest Of The Night', Sarah Dollard, who wrote last years 'Face the Raven', vintage contributor Mark Gatiss and newcomer to Who Mike Bartlett, best known for 'Doctor Foster'. Series 10 is due for transmission in the spring of 2017.

BBC America and Fathom Events have confirmed that the new animated version of 'The Power of the Daleks' will be shown in cinemas across the United States on 14th November 2016, a few days before it premieres on television on the 19th November. The cinema showings will also feature bonus content, including interviews with members of the original cast. I was quoting an ad I saw on BBC America, so we shall see when it actually is shown.

BBC Worldwide ANZ and Sharmill Films have today announced a limited-run theatrical screening of the new animation of 'The Power of the Daleks' from Saturday 12 November for one week only in Australia, ahead of its release on DVD. The Australian cinema event will once again feature exclusive bonus content including interviews with members of the original cast. Screenings of the story have already been announced in cinemas in the US and at the BFI in London. Tickets for Doctor Who: The Power of the Daleks can be purchased by visiting sharmillfilms.com.au for information on participating cinemas, or at the cinema box offices.
