Doctor Who

Just checked for a local 3D screening of this Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Episode. Thought I'd have left it too late, but no! 3 tickets for wife, son and I in reasonable seats - I got shown a seating plan and was allowed to select. Three seats back row in central position - don't like viewing 3D from the side. Suppose we'll have to make a night of it with a meal as well And when we get home my YouView Box will have captured the episode for an instant reply - albeit only in 2D. Screening is synchronous with the BBC Broadcast -as it is worldwide.... Martin
When is this on?

When is this on?
If you are watching The Day of the Doctor at home on BBC America, the start time is 2:50PM EST on the 23rd of November. The special will air again at 7PM EST. If you are attending a theater screening, report at the time scheduled as apparently there will be extras offered prior to the start of the show. The airing of the 50th Anniversary Special is a global simulcast.

Check out the special Google Doodle for the 50th Anniversary: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/google/google-doodle/10467052/Doctor-Whos-50th-anniversary-celebrated-with-a-Google-Doodle.html Don't be fooled by it's simple first appearance, following the clicks leads to a game with several levels where you have to move the Doctor round an old fashioned platform game. Similar in concept to the first such from Google Doodles which featured Pacman. Read the article above for more details. Hopefully it'll be posted somewhere more permanent... Martin

I binge-watched last night on BBC America. I probably watched 10-12 episodes before I fell asleep. They were running through all of season/series 5 and then started 6. Gonna miss the takeover week! After the special tomorrow, it'll feel like it's all over

Getting ready to go out to the cinema - meal first. In the past we've posted spoiler alerts to this topic, esp when the USA screen shows later in the day. However! Tonight's a global simulcast, so let's feedback here as soon as you've recovered from the event Martin

Loved it! Talk about tidying up loose ends Fresh start so far as the angst seen with recent Doctors over the subject in hand. Martin

Today I watched the 2 hour movie Adventures In Time & Space, the 5oth anniversary pre-show, and The Day of the Doctor. All were great, especially the new episode with the 3 Doctors. Which Doctor was is near the end who was the curator at the National Gallery? (that was the original actor, right?)

The Official BBC Doctor Who incarnations: The Classic series First - William Hartnell 63 - 66 Second - Patrick Troughton 66 - 69 Third - Jon Pertwee - 70 - 74 Fourth - Tom Baker 74 - 81 Fifth - Peter Davison 81 - 84 Sixth - Colin Baker 84 - 86 Seventh - Sylvester McCoy 87 - 89 (The series took a break at this point albeit while Sylvester McCoy remained the nominal Doctor no episodes were filmed) Eighth - Paul McGann 1996 - at the time, a one-off TV special. However in a mini-episode prequel to tonight's Day Of The Doctor 50th Anniversary episode the Eighth Doctor (still played by Paul McGann) is seen to transform into the "War Doctor" played by John Hurt who features in the Day Of The Doctor. The Modern Series from 2005 onwards Ninth Doctor - Christopher Eccleston 2005 Tenth Doctor - David Tennant 2005 - 2010 Eleventh Doctor - Matt Smith 2010 -2013 Twelfth Doctor - Peter Capaldi - is introduced in the Xmas special 2013 - although eagle eyed viewers will have spotted a micro-second appearance in the Day Of The Doctor special climax... Tom Baker, The Fourth Doctor seen in this episode, is the earliest surviving incarnation of Doctor Who - William Hartnell, Patrick Troughton and Jon Pertwee have all since passed away. Martin
