Unfortunately I didn't tune in until the afternoon so I missed those as well, Anita. I will have to check out On Demand.

The Guns Of Navarone I fell in love!!! with Gia Scala and felt so sorry for the way her character was treated. I didn't know that she died at the age of 38 in a questionable accidental death??? Very Sad! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gia_Scala

That's an interesting selection. I haven't seen half of those. I've never even heard of Man with a Million.

Gia was very pretty! Very sad ending to her life. I am always surprised when I learn of a classic film actor's untimely and/or unusual demise. I remember thinking how charismatic Laird Cregar was as His Excellency in Heaven Can Wait, great voice! ? A large man, he crash dieted to obtain roles which resulted in abdominal issues leading to the need for surgery. Days after his surgery he had a heart attack and died at only 31 years-old.

TCM appears to be digging a bit deeper as of late, definitely makes for interesting watching. Hope you are able to catch a few of these films at some point in time.

By the time I get around to the DVDs there will be some other way to watch movies.

If you loved the 1963 Classic "CLEOPATRA" Movie, you will absolutely LOVE this woman's quest (Kathleen Martinez) to reveal all the truths about Cleopatra and to find her elusive tomb. I watched this last night on PBS. It is Incredible!!! http://www.pbs.org/wnet/secrets/cleopatras-lost-tomb-preview/2784/

^ Thanks so much for the heads-up, Steve! Just looked this up On Demand, we will check it out!
-
More evidence of how needed TCM is: the three millenial-aged contestants on Jeopardy today all failed to identify a picture of Loretta Young even when given her last name and told that she starred in The Bishop's Wife. Anita, I know you feel my pain.
-
^ Heartbreaking! You know I feel your pain on that one, Dave! LOVE Loretta in The Bishop's Wife, The Stranger, and in The Story of Alexander Graham Bell.

Would LOVE to be in attendance for this: https://www.oscars.org/events/rebecca-premiere-new-4k-digital-restoration

Was amazed to discover "Funny Face" with Audrey Hepburn will be shown at a little theater called "The Stage" in my tiny toy town. Free of charge. Also "Coal Miner's Daughter" a while later. I hope they do that more. I want to see the remake of "Far From the Madding Crowd" with Carey Mulligan, after seeing the trailor on a DVD. She has three different men after her! She looks delightful in this. She's a good little actress.

I don't know what 4K is but sounds great! I wonder if it will be shown on TCM.

"Coal Miner's Daughter" is the last movie I saw at a drive-in theater.
