The Sun, the Moon, and the Stars
-
I haven't seen the stars in a while, too cloudy here. I heard an interesting theory by a man that wrote a book called "The land of Osiris" I saw him on you tube, but he said that many believe the great pyramids are in alignment with orions belt, but he said long ago the great pyramid was actually in alignment with the north star. Which is interesting that many free mason lodges have one large star usually painted on the ceiling. I don't know if it is supposed to be the north star though. I have been planning on reading the book. soon.

The moon is breathtakingly beautiful tonight!
I drove to work this morning (tuesday) just as the light of dawn was beginning to lighten up the eastern horizon. The western sky was still black and that beautiful full moon was there about 15 to 20 degrees from setting. It was way cool!!!

Do you think China lit it up more? ... Only kidding .... Yes, I agree ---- it was spectacular .... & the night skies on clear or relatively clear night would be all the more awesome if I only got away from all these lights I will soon ... I promise Just not in this weather ... snow, snow, snow

It was one of those lovely beautiful and cosmic few minutes of time indeed!
-
The official full moon is so brilliant tonight! I wish every night had a full moon!
-
It appeared to be nearly full this morning...I wonder when it is and was considered to be actually full? It was definitely a beautiful sight!
-
I actually prefer moonless nights. It's too bright and impedes visibility of the winter sky/stars.
-
As for me, I like the wonder & beauty of it all

Saw another brilliant shooting star around 6:30pm last night here in MA...typically on my evening walks (which is usually much later than 6:30 mentioned above) I'll see about 2-3 weak to medium size shooting stars per week and less than one brilliant meteor a year...but this now makes two brilliant ones in the past 2 months
-
Correction- that was two nights ago...we were getting buried in snow last night...lol

This is one of my art attempts in the mid 70's. In the lower right hand corner is a meteor as described by a friend who claimed he saw it. He said that it looked just like it...and wanted to know how I knew that. ...mainly the bright greenish glow of the meteor and the orangish tail
-
That's a cool piece of work - would look really good on the computer used as the background wall paper
-
That is good piece if art sur Stephen.

This is around 5' feet by 5' and was on a heavy cloth like material...I used these tubes of paint that had roller ball points on them like a ballpoint pen. 3 of my friends and my girlfriend of the time helped me fill in the blue space background. You can tell the differences in styles they used if you look real close
