Here's an APOD, Manhattan Strawberry Moonrise on June 9th, you may like Anita! https://apod.nasa.gov/apod/image/1706/SHonda_86072jsm.jpg
Meant to respond to this the other evening... Beautiful!!! LOVE it!!! Thanks so much for sharing, (((Steve)))!!!

^ You're welcome, (((Anita)))! They get a nice moon pic every once in awhile

I am thinking I will see this if it is clear ð??? * unless I drive somewhere for 100 %

What we hope to see some day... The proposal involves using a tiny "nanocraft," called StarChip, which could fit between two fingers, attached to a giant and sail. An array of lasers on Earth will then be used to direct a powerful laser approaching 100 gigawatts/ at this sail, accelerating it to 20 percent of the speed of light in a matter of minutes. https://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap170626.html

I think they use better cameras than we can afford. NASA just released an amazing new flyby of Pluto!

Definitly better than my camera! What an amazing Flybussen... At 0.45 it looked a lot like barnacles...those stars were bright too! Wonder what direction it was flying in?

It sure does look unusual. What boggles my mind is the remoteness. That's a long long ways from the grocery store!

Kind of reminded me of the one planet in interstellar. The one where the guy tried to kill Matthew McConaughey's character to try and get on the spaceship. That's what early colonization of planets is going to be like. No grocery store and if your're lucky, a robot for company. Or finding Martians on Mars, as in Bradbury's Martian Cronicles.

Do you think Gallileo used the leaning tower of Pizza to conduct his gravity experiment ? That's a beautifully sharp photo of the one place I never got to in Italy. Did you see the Great Red Spot ? This photo is less than 10,000 km!! WOW!!! https://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap170715.html [size=7]hold the onions

We might say, "Hold The Comets!" Do You remember after Shoemaker Levy 9, that there was a disruption in the usual flow of the Big Red Spot and another good sized red spot appeared along with it for awhile? That photo is very cool! ps...NOVA has a good one running on PBS now that your inner Rockologist may like! Life's Rocky Start NOVA goes around the world and back in time to investigate how minerals are vital to life.

Touch? Hold the Comets!! Yes, I remember Shoemaker Levy 9, wasn't there a nuclear bomb type explosion? I get it mixed up with Gallileo crashing into Jupiter. I was thinking that the Gallileo crash changed the red spot, a bit!! Will make a note to check that video, thanks so much Steve!!

Nebraska will feature (as a state) the longest run of the August eclipse as it's path runs diagonally through the state. Very cool website they have set up! http://neclipse17.com/

Really loved this image, with the eclipse right around the corner...this would make a great painting inspiration!! https://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap170724.html

NASA's eclipse balloon project is going to be sending up balloons into the stratosphere and live stream the eclipse. In addition, there will be a student project of sending a card with hearty bacteria one card kept on Earth as a control and the other is to be sent way up in the stratosphere . https://www.jpl.nasa.gov/news/news.php?feature=6905

^ Heard last night that we had a plane sized asteroid just pass the earth. They discovered it after it passed. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-4737450/Phew-Scientists-spot-asteroid-flew-past-Earth.html
