Ok - Batter up...who's your team and what are your expectations? And I'll get things rolling on a bit of a historical (or hysterical ) note with this video:

"The Catcher put tape on his fingers, so I could see the signals!" I thought of starting this thread a few days ago...I am happy to see that you have done so. As you already know, my team...... Philadelphia Phillies!!! The New York Yankees are a strong second for me. My expectations??? What else...Lucky number 3......The World Series!!!

Unbelievable He passed away at 63 - don't think all the drugs helped

That was well worth the trip!!! Opening day for the Phillies...they clobbered the Nationals 11 - 1!!! Home run for Ryan Howard, and a grand slam for Placido Polanco! Great game!!!

And you got to see Roy Halliday - I think Philly fans will be very happy with that guy by the time the season is over. While I am a Redsox fan overall, Phillie is the NL team I hope does well this year.
-
Maybe the defensive play of the year - on Opening Day no less.
Watch and listen to all 4 broadcast calls. -

Watch and listen to all 4 broadcast calls.Definitely a brilliant play...some of those plays involve skill, some involve luck - that was one play that required a lot of both

I cannot see the video, as it has been removed due to a copyright claim by MLB, but you must be referring to Buehrle!!! That play was AMAZING!!! We are going to be seeing film of that one for a long time!!! For those that may have missed it, check out what fab4fan is referring to... http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20100405&content_id=9091930&vkey=news_mlb&fext=.jsp&c_id=mlb

Ok so my knowledge on baseball is limited and I have only been to one game in the flesh, seeing the Phillies play last April so they are my team now, but I can technically be swayed

I saw that - congrats to Jimenez. An outfielder really saved the day for that no hitter with a great diving catch. Also the other game you were talking about, K-Rod blew the save opportunity. I don't understand why they still give these pitchers credit for the win when the only reason they were in that position they couldn't hold the win for the prior pitcher who did their job But none of that matters - the Redsox are currently slopping around in a puddle of suckage...it's the only thing that matters in all of MLB

This gave me a good laugh...Thanks for that!!!
