I have so many stories and great footage from the 3 gigs I saw in May and earlier this month, but just didn?t have time to write anything down or edit any videos or photos. That still will be the case until somewhere in July, but here?s one bit I still haven?t heard anyone mention, and which baffled me: what the hell is up with ?I?m Looking Through You? this tour?! (Another rare track which McCartney plays in a lower key, btw.) The instrumental organ bit during the chorus is completely off, and nobody seems to take offense to it. ?I?m Looking Through You?, in 2010:

?I?m Looking Through You?, in 2015:
The 2-note organ, as played by Ringo on the original record, now suddenly sounds like a dissonant sound of a train approaching. I could even see Wix hitting his head in disbelief after this musical blunder in Liverpool. But? Nothing changed. The whole performance that bit was like nails on chalkboard. And more than a week later in Amsterdam? Still the same, now with Wix obviously playing it without any confidence:
Compare this again with how it should sound:
Anyway, pretty remarkable for easily the most easy part from the whole gig, haha.

Rotten. His 2011 performances of this song were exceptional.

It's not the "organ" that's the problem, it's his voice. Regardless of the lower key, his singing is awful.

It's a challenging song, which I still a blast to hear live, but just listen to those organ notes in the 2015 version.

Organ sounds fine to me. The vocal's gone downhill a bit.

That 2015 clip was, more than likely, just an off-night. But it was sho' nuff cringe-inducing. Despite that, McCartney clearly still has the range for it.

Wix is fine...Paul's voice in '15...yikes. This sounded great at Yankee Stadium and was a real highlight! Only time I've heard him do it.

Yeah, McCartney's voice is 5 years older, no surprise there. Compare the organs, Wix is even hitting his head afterwards in the Liverpool video! Completely off, not even to mention the confidence of how he played it in Amsterdam because of that. Again, no big deal, just funny it happens on that part of all parts, since they nail almost everything night after night.

Sounds like the lump Ian Anderson had in his throat in the 80s-90s. McCartney has had it for a while now, time to pass the baton...

Listen to this video of Paul singing Till There Was You (live) at the Royal Command Variety Performance in 1963. Sublime! And the way he holds the note at the end...so sad he had to get old and his voice went downhill so much! http://www.bing.com/search?q=till+there+was+you&form=PRHPCS&pc=HPDTDFJS&mkt=en-us&refig=0f26e52c99864c78b71ad27246811a64&ghc=1&qs=AS&pq=till+there&sc=8-10&sp=1&cvid=0f26e52c99864c78b71ad27246811a64

Nah, if only John and George got old too. I'd love to hear it. McCartney has had more luck in his life than anybody can ask for.

Yup. He wrote philosophically in 1989 about what a brilliant tapestry his life has been, and he is still going. Everybody has to face old age and mortality. Even Rock stars. Paul will be fine. At some point he will slow down. So what? Not the end of the world. He is amazing and a living legend.

I consider myself a fan. I'm also a fan of the other three. And a Beatles fan. But I also have about 15-20 000 records in my collection. It's very varied. From worldwide hits to local obscurities. A myriad of genres... I've been a collector since I was a kid. Every penny I earned, I spent (or thrown out the window. depending on who you talk to;) on records and I worked in a record store in the 90s. Some artists I've been with a period and then go in different directions. McCartney is one of those who have been with me all the way.

Well, I'm not rich, I don't live in a palace. It takes maybe not as much space as you think it will do. But it decorates the living room walls.
