Books read in past few months include: "hateship, Friendship, Courtship, Loveship" short stories by Alice Munroe; "Shadow of a Man" Joyce Carol Oates' new novel; "American Ghost: A Family's Haunted Past in the Desert Southwest" by Hannah Nordhaus; "Brain Maker: the power of gut microbes to heal and protect your brain" by David Perlmutter; "A God in Ruins" by Kate Atkinson; "Perfect Match" by Fern Michaels; "Healthy Pasta: the Sexy, Skinny, and Smart Way to Eat Your Favorite Food"; "A Song Flung Up to Heaven" by Maya Angelou; "Boys in the Trees, a Memoir" by Carly Simon; "The Hungry Girl Diet Cookbook;" "Just Breathe" by Susan Wiggs, "Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology" by Leah Remini; "Return to Willow Lake" by Susan Wiggs; "The Book of Speculation, A Novel" "The Wild Diet: Get Back to Your Roots to Burn Fat" "Tunnel of Love" by Wilma Wolitzer; "I'll Never Write My Memoirs" by Grace Jones "My Name is Lucy Barton: A Novel" by Elizabeth Strout. "Of Fates and Furies" and also another one by Lauren Groff.( President Obama cited "Fates and Furies" as one of his favorite new novels.) Among others--am an avid bookworm. I read Margaret Atwood's rather wild new sci-fi novel, but can't recall its title. Ditto Clare Cook's, about WWI, would make a good movie. Atwood's would, too. I read Dr. Paul Kilinithe's new autobiography--his life was cut tragically short at age 36, by lung cancer, which being a medical doctor he describes especially well.

Just started Wicked Charms by Janet Evanovich
-
"The Corrections" novel by Jonathan Franzen and a biography of Lord Byron. Just finished two novels by Anne Tyler I'd read before: "The Amateur Marriage" and "Ladder of Years"
-
"The Rainbow Comes and Goes" - Gloria Vanderbilt and Anderson Cooper * love this book!?

This bit about Woodstock. Amazingly there are some famous people not even noted! Grace Slick...and a photo that looks like Paul & Linda, although the timeframe is wrong. http://www.likesharetweet.com/featured/32-rare-photos-from-woodstock/?utm_source=revcontent&utm_medium=health%20and%20fitness&utm_term=22035&utm_content=676465&utm_campaign=Woodstock%20-%20Tablet%20RC

-
Chasing the Sun ~ Richard Cohen
-
Biography of Kennedy sister Kick Kennedy, and "Ruthless" by Ron Misciavge , father of Scientology leader David Misciavge, exposes how "absolute power" has corrupted his son to "totally twist" the philosophy's teachings which originally had some positive beneficial aspects, according to the father. "Chestnut Street" perhaps the last short story collection from Irish writer Maeve Binchy. and novel "Nights of Rain and Stars" by Binchy. Re-reading that and re-read her novel"Tara Road." "Modern Romance" by Aziz Azaria. A Life of Lord Byron. "A Fine Romance" by Candace "Murphy Brown" Bergen--she's funny on the page as well as the screen and completely self-deprecating and candid, which is disarming, and charming. Will read the new biography on Charlotte Bronte and one about writer Joan Didion, and "The Story of the Lost Child" by Elena Ferrente, and also a novel "Have You Ever Had a Family" by Bill Clegg. The Collected Short Stories of Flannery O'Conner, too.
