Paul McCartney ~ Philip Norman
Is this a "must have" book, L2T?
Well it's certainly interesting... So many things I didn't know... I like it because you can dip in and out of it between other things you're busy with. There are some nice photos, with the last one being Paul and Nancy on their wedding day. The photo on the cover is gorgeous!! http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/paul-mccartney-philip-norman/1122636011?ean=9780316327961&st=PLA&sid=BNB_DRS_Core+Shopping+Books_00000000&2sid=Google_&sourceId=PLGoP62464
Great. And I had forgotten it was only $20. I guess I wondered how it compares with Tune In, if you have read it.
No, haven't read it...do you recommend it?

I do. It was informative, but quite tedious and that was the U.S. version.

Sounds intriguing. What genre is it? Romance? Mystery?

I haven't read Norman's book, but I can promise you, nothing compares to Tune In! It is the most well-written, comprehensive, error-free, typo-free Beatles biography ever! I can't sing its praises enough! I read first the U.S. condensed version, and then the U.K. 2-book version. I love history, so was fascinated with the extra info. I just wish he'd get around to publishing part 2!

"The Warmth of Other Suns" by Isabel Wilkerson. You truly have no idea what it's like to be black in America until you read this.
-
Novels "Emily Alone," "The Weird Sisters," and a black humor one by Jennifer Lash, and also a thriller, and the memoir "No One Here Can Hear Me Scream" by gay author Wade Rouse--really funny, about him leaving the city to live in the sticks and the first page details a raccoon jumping on his head when he takes out the trash, it reads so hilarious I laughed out loud. Rouse only writes memoirs. He makes a point of telling about his gay experience in the U.S., wants people to understand gay folks better and appreciate them more. I read "Bettyville" by another gay writer Bill Hodge and also an autobiography focusing on his aged mother, Betty, in the Midwest. It's poignant and heartbreaking. Betty gets cancer in the end. Rouse is from the Midwest too. "Great Kitchens of the Midwest" is a really good novel.

Wade Rouse title I read is actually called " In the City They Can Hear me Scream." He did write a novel--the new "Charm Bracelet" under the name Viola Shipman, and a novella. His memoir "Confessions of a Prep School Mommy Handler" is probably a riot. A really good novel is "Kitchens of the Midwest." I've read so many books lately after hitting that big library book sale (was in my glory) I can't even remember them all right now.

My brother got me this book for Christmas 3 years ago, but I haven't had time to completely read it. The Beatles by Igloo Books. I have the 2013 Edition of a 2010 release. Is it good? http://www.theworks.co.uk/images/9780857347978_Z.jpg

I've been reading the Music Direct catalog! Music Direct owns Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab (MFSL). In my opinion, Music Direct sells the greatest audio/video components in the world! Music Direct also sells MFSL and SHM CD's as well as many other high sound quality CD's. Music Direct has a website too, check it out.
