SusyLuvsPaul:
that doesn't look like paul in the first big pic you posted, mark--the second one does, and it's fabulous.
I think that's John Hammel.

There were lots of signs on the floor, he just chose to not mention them.

My daughter had a question I could not answer. She said when McCartney did his tribute to George Harrison (Something), there were pictures of George on the screen during the song. (some with George and Paul together). When McCartney did tribute to Lennon (Here Today), there were no pictures of John. She was wondering why ? Any thoughts?

Wow, thanks! I was reliving the concert looking at those.

My guess is that Paul prefers a more stark presentation with the entire focus on the song and his performance.

Or maybe Yoko won't allow it?

"Here Today" is quite powerful on it's own-no pics of John are necessary... JMO
-
"Something' is George's song, hence the pics. "Here Today" is Paul's and like someone just said, the focus is all on Paul. Did anyone notice before he does "Here Today" and says "Let's here it for John" and the place goes crazy the tears in Paul's eyes?
-
Yes, I notice that. It makes me sad. I think they really did love each other like brothers.
-
no matter who's song it is...it would still be nice to see a pic of John. jus sayin
-
a sweet small pic of john sleeping flashed by, right before the two great big hovering planets which looked so striking, i believe. you must not have noticed it (?). or did i dream that? i don't think so, i think i really saw it. i know i did. i was all eyes and ears i digress, but... ultra effective dazzling end to the show, by the way, 'sgt. pepper's band' merging into 'and in the end/the love you take/is equal to/the love you make' from abby road--whoa nelly that was just dynamite, that was the bomb and happily not really 'the end' since there were three fantastic encores
-
was wondering what songs paul & band did at the charlotte, n.c. show sound check. thanks for info if anyone provides it.

The only pictures of John were during the Pre-show. None showed up during the concert. The only pictures of people that were on the screen during the show were his kids and George. He's been performing Sgt. Pepper's/The End like that for awhile now and The End was the last song of the evening.

(bump) does anyone know?

Self indulgent of me, but I wanted to re-read my concert review which I seem to recall seemed to describe the Second Coming (almost), it's in this thread somewhere

Glad you did because it reminded me of taking my daughters to see him. They loved the concert and thanked my wife and I many times for taking them !!
