The 2012 and beyond Political Thread - Part 2

Bad news, Trump is still President elect. Our government surveillance department knows about Russian involvement and sits on it, before the election. The FBI chief accuses Hillary and makes her look bad, when they know it will sway the election. No one has done anything to put Trump's becoming President on hold for a recount, remove him for Treason, or impeach him for his illegal and unconstitutional business conflicts of interest. These are done, out in the open, as he thinks people are so stupid, they won't say anything. Clearly now, people with any intelligence can see by all of the people Trump is installing, he lied about EVERYTHING. Like he always bragged, he could shoot someone in the middle of the street, and still be elected. He was basically saying, Hey my voters, thanks for voting for me, I can tell you anything, it won't happen, and you all will vote for me anyway... I can stab you all in the back when I get elected, you will all think I'm working for you...(Haa Haa implied)!!! I'm gonna do whatever I want, and it will be too late by the time you notice... Trump is so crooked, he's making Crooked Hillary look like a saint. She wanted Solar Energy, to remove our reliance on oil. He's going to put the Exxon CEO as Secretary of State! So we're going to war for oil, against the Middle East. It's like a bad futuristic KGB movie has become today's reality in the US. I wish someone would prove this wrong... It's a disaster!! They're calling his style Authoritarian, PC for dictatorship. New nickname for Donald ... Don Quixote tilting at windmills...
I sense pain, frustration and disappointment in your post, and many of us understand completely. But here's the thing. The pain you feel is pretty much the same as the pain Republicans felt in 2008. They thought Obama was a terribly unqualified rock star celebrity who would tear up the Constitution and make himself dictator. He was going to take away our guns, convert us all to Islam and make America socialist, somehow. As recently as October, they were warning us that he would cancel the election and stay in office indefinitely. They thought the United States was doomed to extinction if the country had to endure 4 years under Obama. Now, you might be thinking that Obama is a sincere man who failed to live up to his promise despite his best efforts while Trump is a lying sack of warthog diarrhea. But from the Republican point of view, Trump is a champion of the people who will point his toup?e like a golden beacon out of the Obama darkness and into the shining light of freedom and corporate bonuses. You can point out all of the lies Trump has told, but it will never make any difference. The Republican Party, which opposed Trump for obvious reasons, has now embraced him. They will tell their followers how to rationalize every crazy thing he says for the next 4 years and blame any criticism on the "liberal media". After 8 years of burning Obama in effigy, they will tell us to show respect for the office no matter what we think of the man. Whatever bad thing Trump does will always be someone else's fault. Everything good that happens will be because of him. This has nothing to do with Trump personally. This is how politics works. Someone once said politics is institutional hypocrisy. I don't remember who. The Democratic Party is the same. They told their followers to criticize every little misstatement and linguistic nosedive Bush made for 8 years. Both parties commit fraud, drone brown people, cover up embassy attacks, dole out corporate welfare, delete e-mails, lie, cheat and steal. Democrats don't care when Democrats do it just as Republicans don't care when Republicans do it. Because they're told by their parties not to care. It's only the other side that does bad things. Americans keep voting for Republicans and Democrats and then wonder why nothing ever changes. Trump isn't anything special. He's just the latest guy who claims he'll shake up Washington and fix the broken system. He's far from the first and, unfortunately, he won't be the last. But he will only fix the broken system and save the world about as much as Obama did, assuming he doesn't have a heart attack and die in office. One thing Trump didn't lie about is that the system is broken. The Republican Party and Democratic Party are 2 sides of the same corrupt coin. The electoral college is undemocratic. Campaigns cost entirely too much money and last entirely too long. And, sometimes, elections are rigged. Just ask any Democrat about 2000 or Republican about 1960. It can be fixed, but we don't want to fix it. The people in charge have distracted us too much to pay attention, and party loyalty is more important than anything else. Since I'm pretty sure most people stopped reading this a long time ago, here is the meaning of life:

I understand everything that you're saying Hailey, it's just the Chinese plane with the nuclear bombs on it, that has twice taken off and flown to the China South Seas that has me worried. It is a direct threat...directed toward Trump and he is only the President elect at the moment. I don't really remember nuclear threats being part of the equation in the above scenarios you mentioned. You might not have heard of that nuclear plane taking off, if you are in China at the moment. You might have not heard about Trumps "Nuke Em" comments either, or his intense questioning on our, Nuclear capabilities, when it was being explained to him. Selfish of me I know, however, I want to see the rest of the world, before it is pick axed by Isis and nuclear bombed by China and the US. The movie the Day After, somewhat upset me when watching the affects of fallout. I'm also very upset by the interference of our government in electing Donald Trump, rather shocking. You probably don't know about that either. FBI Comey and the security forces sitting on knowledge before the election. That's really shocking to me. I suppose our freedom of speech is really a myth. I want to believe in our Constitution, fewer and fewer people seem to believe in it, and I believe Trump is trying to change it. Make sure to check the British news when you are out on one of your trips, it seems to be the best. Great video, by the way...

Democrats and Republicans are the same, and so are Liberals and Conservatives and Cats and Dogs?
NOT!

Today someone was puzzled as to why I would not drive 60 miles to see President Elect Trump in Mobile, Alabama, but I will fly over 1,500 miles to see Elton John.
My priorities are finally in order.

You might have the wrong idea about Chinese media. They'll never tell you what the Chinese government is up to, but they're more than happy to talk about the American government. Chinese TV had the most insightful reporting of the election I saw anywhere, definitely better than CNN or BBC. They talked about FBI and Russian interference a lot, though mostly to show that the American system is a sham. Imagine being a dyed in the wool communist and always hearing America announce how free and democratic they are. Then you watch this election. They must be having a great time. The flyovers are basic saber rattling. I wouldn't worry about it. Chinese media generally thinks Trump is an illiterate buffoon, but there's no way the government is going to start a war over a temporary head of state. The Chinese government plans for the long term. No matter what happens, Trump will be gone in 4-8 years, health permitting. It's sad about Isis, of course. I know I won't be traveling to Syria any time soon. But don't worry. Next year, we'll have a new president. He knows more about them than the generals, so everything should be ok.

I'd be more puzzled over someone not choosing Elton John.

Pres. Obama would have done a lot more good, but the GOP pols prevented and obstructed his efforts. That was reprehensible, placing partisanship over the well being of the country. I find Trump's being elected more comprehensible when I recall always being told, all my life, that "anyone" (any American) can potentially become POTUS (especially if they had their own hit t.v. show, it seems).

This made me laugh. What Democrat or Republican politician does not place partisanship over the well being of the country? Party always comes first.

As long as he's a millionaire who's approved by the corporate establishment, isn't bald or too fat, and knows how to pander to the lowest common denominator, any man with the full support of one of the two largest and most corrupt political parties can be president.

President Obama is taking a cue from Donald Trump _ He's Got His Own Wall As you read, it's under construction ... see for yourself .... http://www.tmz.com/2017/01/06/president-obama-dc-house-brick-wall/

Trump's fixing to f---k things up BIG TIME. Planned Parenthood ousted, Obamacare repealed which will make 23 million children suffer, the Iran pact destroyed which will destabilize the entire Middle East, and much much more and you're fuming over an Obama brick wall at his house.

Trump also changed his mind about Mexico paying for the Wall! Now Trump wants the Taxpayers to pay for it! I KNEW IT!
