Watched the speeches this evening, so moving and wonderful!

My dad was at my nephew's soccer game this morning and a bald eagle flew by. Shortly after it was announced that Biden was the President elect. If that wasn't a sign, I don't know what is!

Thanks for posting my banner, Nancy!  It was just supposed to make people laugh during this stressful time.  I got the idea after seeing a news item that an American citizen (upset about some of DT's policies) had written the Queen, asking her to take us back as a colony.   0ne of her secretaries or ladies in waiting wrote back simply that "Her Majesty cannot comment on any matters relating to a foreign sovereign state."

Can't help thinking if DT had not insulted John McCain, he might have had a chance winning in Arizona.  He said something like "McCain was nothing, he's only popular because he was a P0W once.  He's a weak man who never did anything."  McCain's widow took offense at this and endorsed Joe Biden.  He also insulted Arizona's former Republican senator Jeff Flake, who also endorsed Biden.   These endorsements made a big difference in him not winning the state.

The fact that he didn't show support for the Black Lives Matter movement cost him Pennsylvania and Georgia, because  the african american community turned out in record numbers in those states to defeat him.

Not getting the electoral votes in Arizona, Georgia and Pennyslvania were critical losses for him.

0ther than the racial division he caused, his Republican policies were not much different than that party has always advocated.   It was his lack of tact and respect for others that cost him the election.  He will never learn that he's his own worst enemy.

A Bald Eagle is definitely a great sign Paulfan11. Biden and Harris's speeches were both so inspiring. Heard from friends and on TV, of men and women who were both brought to tears for many great reasons, over the past few days.

Love the joy and the dancing in the streets and all of the happiness seen everywhere. Feeling as if a weight has lifted and for the first time in 4+ years. Hallelujah   What a difference in hearing a calm and encouraging voice, pledging to unite people, telling us all about the plans he is already instituting for Covid...plans for tomorrow Monday, assembling his task force of top Pandemic and virologists to quickly implement mask making in this country, protocols for bringing Covid numbers way down using Scientific methodologies and plans for the latest theraputics and a safe vaccine ASAP! Just found out from a pharmacist that many vaccines can take 2-4 years to produce.

              Excellent post Lady Leslie

I've been reading more about vaccines. As you probably know most vaccines take from 10-15 years from start to finish. They have been working for 20 years to develop an AIDS vaccine which is not ready yet. You probably also have read about the UK's Oxford/Astra Zeneca vaccine, that has run into issues such as a rare irreversible mylene sheath issue which affected some trial participants in one case causing that person to lose part of their mylene sheath on their spinal cord!  There were also issues with very high fevers. The US has stopped their trials on this vaccine. The Pfizer vaccine is showing a 90% efficacy which is a very high percentage and is great, however, they have not finished the phase 3 trials yet. The thing I like is that it was not a part of the Warp Speed  plan by Trump, which is good.  I also started reading about CRISPR  and that sounds amazing with the DNA spacers inserted so as to act as an immune response to the RNA. Very very interesting.  It needs to be kept at -94° which will be a challenge. The President Elect has just formed a ~13 person Covid task force of Virologists, Doctors and Scientists to  ramp up a speedy lowering of cases and produce masks in this country.  The experts are saying they want several months to go over the safety data, so probably will start out as initial doses which will go to seniors in 2 months.

Trump is also keeping the funds that should go to Bidens transition team from him and not permitting him the office space in the White House and elsewhere so Biden can prepare for his transition.

Pfizer is supposed to get emergency approval by December, the first responders and hospital workers will get the first doses between Jan. and March, then 65 and over and those with underlying health conditions will be next from Apr. to June. (that's just what I heard on World News Tonight with David Muir)

My county went back into our state's "red status" today. UGH, why can't people just take this virus seriously?

Trump and  his top cohorts are trying to drain some of our joy  and relief with their lawsuits and charges of enormous voter fraud and saying Biden didn't really win, etc. One of  Trump's main associates Mike Pompeo even came right out today and said  Trump will be sworn again Jan. 20 as POTUS instead of Biden. It was charged Pompeo "lost all credibility" with that statement. But I still felt some fear. One man who sounded in the know said "one million" votes have yet to be counted and those are likely to be mostly for Biden. Biden's already won the right number of electoral votes, 270 or more so I had thought he's absolutely the President Elect for sure.  But then all this uproar and activity from Trump's camp trying to change that. Should we really be worried? Usually I think not, but then read something that seeks to sow doubt and fear.

The margin is called "razor thin" in some important states and recounts are being called for or maybe have already begun.

My county in Georgia is Blue all the way! Now we have to do a stupid recount because Trump won't believe he lost! And there will be a run-off in January for the 2 Senate seats!

Oh sorry I was talking in terms of the pandemic. In CA there are color codes for the level of where a county is at as far as outbreaks go. We got moved into a worse tier on Monday. 😞

I know my kids, their dad and my mom are all voting Democrat in the run-off. It would be so great to get Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue booted out of the Senate!

We usually don't celebrate Thanksgiving anyway, so won't be a problem for us. And for Christmas it will only be 6-7 adults and one baby.

My county went back into our state's "red status" today. UGH, why can't people just take this virus seriously?

My county in Georgia is Blue all the way! Now we have to do a stupid recount because Trump won't believe he lost! And there will be a run-off in January for the 2 Senate seats!

I've already made a donation to the Senate campaigns and will do so again soon. This is SO important!

And everyone in the US, please stay safe! The COVID-19 situation is grim and going to get worse over the next several weeks. Celebrate Thanksgiving by staying home!

I'm staying in CA for both Thanksgiving and Christmas.  A hard decision since both will be my dad's first since my mom passed in February, but I'd rather make sure he's safe.  Hoping to get home again this summer if things have calmed down.

I hope you like praying a lot.  The right wing extremists are going to put as many obstacles as they can, legal and otherwise, for the next four years.  They do not need to start a civil war.  They only need to get enough of their fans to believe in their conspiracy theories.

The good news is that Biden is assassination-proof.  The last thing those brave patriot Christians want is a black woman as president.

Well, the Trump administration is finally allowing a formal transition to begin -- though the Orange Menace is still too much of a flippin' crybaby to admit he LOST.

I know! It's insane! I truly won't lose my anxiety about this until Jan. 20th when Biden is sworn in (and Trump will probably have to be escorted out by a SWAT team!)
