What is it about the fact that the Republicans openly sought to stymie the president at every turn during his first term do you guys not get? Post all the quotes you want; all it proves is that Obama was naive to think that Republicans would actually meet Democrats halfway in order to return the country to prosperity. He can't be a liar if the reason his "promises" didn't come true is the lack of cooperation from the GOP. Let me put it to you this way. If I say 'Oh, I'm going to run five miles tomorrow,' then on my way to the track you take a crow bar and whack me across the knee, it'd be pretty disingenuous to call me a liar for not being able to complete the five-mile run. But that's exactly what you're doing for holding the president accountable for inaction that's largely the blame of uncooperative Republicans. Oh, and once again, if the stimulus was so bad, why did Romney argue an even bigger stimulus was necessary at the time and why did Paul Ryan lust so hungrily after stimulus funds for his district?
Compromise & openess to bi-partisanship was not favorable to the way this current administration functioned. Obamacare was rammed thru without any compromise. It was wholly a Democratic bill (and those ramming it through) we not open to any compromise from the other side of the isle (in attempt to make it more favorable to the public at large). And the Democrats kept up that same behavior ... and snubbed approxamately half of the citizens of the USA during the process...
You are mis-characterizing the events that led up to the passage of the Affordable Care Act. The healthcare bill was not "rammed through" at all. I followed that whole ordeal through the latter half of 2009, and I can't tell you how frustrating it was for me that the Dems wasted so much time dealing with the Republicans -- who clearly had no intention on seeing it through at all. On the onset, Obama had already compromised plenty by taking Single Payer healthcare off the table. The compromise: A public option for lower-income citizens. A version of the ACA with the public option passed the House. However, it was the "Blue Dog Democrats" in the Senate that screwed us out of that. All that compromising...all that time devoted -- just so that they could get that one Republican vote from Olympia Snow.
It the healthcare bill weren't rammed through, there would not be so many people against it. For many it might be parts, and for others larger portions. To this day, it's not liked by many ... Maybe a great deal of the DMC will have to be devoted to still "selling" the idea. Had it not been rammed through to passage, that would not have been still necessary. Alas, hindsight is always 20/20. And the donkey is lifting & wagging its tail ...

You consider a year of legislative debates "ramming through?" And, by the way, I know that facts seem to get lost on conservatives, but it has been reported that since the Supreme Court ruling, ObamaCare has become increasingly popular -- because people are finally learning the vast benefits to it. Or should I just find the video of your candidate Mitt Romney explaining the program's merits?

Please stop repeating talk-radio buzz-words. It hurts your cred. You are mis-characterizing the events that led up to the passage of the Affordable Care Act. The healthcare bill was not "rammed through" at all. And there was sho' 'nuff PLENTY that was compromised. I followed that whole ordeal throughout the latter half of 2009, and I can't tell you how frustrating it was for me that the Dems wasted so much time dealing with the Republicans -- who clearly had no intention on seeing it through at all. On the onset, Obama had already compromised plenty by taking Single Payer healthcare off the table. The compromise: A public option for lower-income citizens. He has no cred so doesn't worry about losing it. just like the lying party he supports if they can get away with a lie they'll use it. And even if they can't ..lying just comes naturally to all of them mittens, lying ryan and the basebots. lying ryan is already pushing back on a few of his many lies: the marathon lie, the Janesville plant closing lie and the lying liars have stopped using the welfare lie for the past few days...although of course if they see an opening they'll use it again. It's the last gasp of a dying monster.

These political arguments would be so much better if conservatives just came out and admitted that: They know their candidates lie; they know their candidates favor the wealthy; they know their candidates are racist; they know their candidates are afraid of anything that is not white, heterosexual, male or a submissive female... ...because they share those views. Just admit it and own it. I'd actually respect them more.

Exactly, they share those views but mainly because they have been manipulated to fear and hate by the paid hate mongers limbaugh etc.. Then with those views they vote against their own financial interests (and the rest of us too) and against the success of their own country. No matter what they do i can never respect them...their ignorance has done too much destruction But, as i said above they are on their last gasp.

About half of all Republican voters still believe that Obama is Muslim, so I think that speaks to the box-office success of this film, which was targeted at and tailor-made for low-information racists...er, voters.

An interesting, spontaneous street debate between two Mormon missionaries and one, Scripturally well-armed brutha': Get some popcorn:
-
And, to be fair, here's Mitt Romney's position on the Mormon Church's rule on not allowing black people into its priesthood:
-
I notice Mittens never mentions the role of "prophet" Joseph Smith (founder of the faith) and how he will probably eventually come to be worshiped by Mormons as if he were another Jesus, if he's not, already. However, to be fair, the LDS have a special holy book called "the Pearl" which is truly awesome, parts of it at least. You don't get to own one unless you're "good enough" just as you can't enter the fancy temples until you are "approved" so there's a strong exclusive aspect to this religion for everyone as well as its original racism which was caused by Joseph Smith, which is unappealing. I read "The Real Romney" and yes, Mitt has done some good deeds in his life, along with destructiveness, but he tried to take one Mormon single mother's baby away from her, and Ann Romney told another one who was low income "you're not my kind of Mormon."
