(((((((Dotty)))))), that's beautiful ... I'm sure Mike is honored that you made this beautiful image for him. You know, for all of Mike's bravado he was like a little boy inside. Whenever he would read praise about himself his eyes would open real wide and he was in total awe because he couldn't believe that people liked him that much. I know to some it appeared that Mike was full of cockiness and self-importance, but nothing could have been further from the truth. All of these testimonies and tributes would have floored him.

Thank You. I am glad you guys thought it came out alright. I wish Mike was here.

I can attest to that. For all his swaggering and loud talk, he was actually a very humble person, and he would be deeply touched by these wonderful tributes. And he would probably feel unworthy of them even though nothing could be further from the truth.

Hokey Smokes, I missed these threads and didn't hear the news until someone emailed me. When I see Beatnuts name on a thread I just assume it is more silliness. He will be very missed. It feels like with the forum that we are all family, we are all connected, you just assume everyone will be here forever. This was very sad news to hear. I met Mike a few times, and he was great! His threads, no matter how perverse, added alot to the forum. He always spoke what was on his mind, and made this a more enjoyable place. I just know somewhere he is rocking with John, George, and Stu. Podgie ( ) Monkey
Hey Podgie, We had fun time at the Harp with Beat, Lemmy and few other boardies before the Paul concert in Boston, didn't we? Lt. Kepper

It was not long ago before i taught my dad how to use a computer in which he found all of you guys here, PaulMcCartney.com. It was not long before he considered you to be his closest and most loving friends. Who can honestly say they met their best friends on the internet without it being creepy?! LOL. All of you on here meant the world to my father, 'Beatnut' and would spend his off-time sharing his love and wisdom with you fantastic beatle fans. It is an honor for my family and I to have all of your support in these painful moments of our lives. He often looked forward to logging on and talking to many of you, whom have been a tremendous help to my family and will be remembered as the guy who helped others, while making them laugh and smile simultaneously. Thank you all for being here, sharing love and support. Love, Michael Anthony Lorio

I heard through Podgie that Beatnut had passed away. I hadn't been posting much and didn't know he was ill. I want to offer my condolences to all of his Boardie Buddies. I remember some of his threads were so popular you could barely keep up with reading the posts! After tearfully reading through these memorial Beatnut threads, it is obvious that Mike left a huge mark on so many people. It is unfortunate that I never met him in person. It has been great to see all the old 2002 Boardies posting here. It brings back good memories! ... and to Kevin (abbey something), I hope you will stay and become a full-time PM Boardie. In my opinion, I think you have the best screen name on this board! As you can tell, Paul fans are the best people in the world and we will welcome you with open arms!

Hello all, this is Clo's Chris (aka Vetdr). Thank you all for letting me join the board. I could probably write several pages of our relationship with Beat. I remember meeting him and the rest of the Beatles group at the Film Center Cafe in NYC years ago. There were a few of us "outsiders" there (Beat's wife Dianne included) but everyone there made us feel very welcome. It is very difficult writing this and fighting back the tears at the same time (Dam you Beat!!!)but I like to think that people come into and out of ours lives for a reason. I just wanted to post a picture of my very dear friend and the dog "Sadie" that we bought for him back in December of 2004. I will miss my friend very much.

Wonderful picture, Chris, thank you so much for sharing. Beat and Sadie look very comfortable with each other. I seem to recall that he had a picture of her in his signature for a while He loved that dog.

I am so glad that you joined the forum, Michael. I hope you know how proud your dad was of you. I've seen a few pictures of you and your brother. We thank you for sharing your dad with us and send lots of love and support your way. ((((( Michael Anthony Lorio )))))

Thank you, Michael, for coming here and posting. I hope you find a small bit of comfort in reading these past and coming pages of how much your dad meant to many of us here! Clo's Chris...thanks for posting that picture! It's one I remember very clearly when it was originally taken, and is a wonderful memory for me! ((((Beat))) you are loved and missed!

Hi Mike, I wanted to tell you again how much your dad loved you and Justin. You guys were the light of his life. He was so proud of you. My son Jason (age 24) thought I was crazy when told him about my friends on here. Then he had the opportunity to meet Mike, lots of times, and several others. He is almost as sad as I am about your dad. Have a good semester at college Mike. Love, Sue

I found this poem on the net today. I thought it beautiful and fitting. I`d like to share it with you all. The authorship has apparently been hotly debated but those who have researched it believe it was written by a woman named Mary Frye in 1932. Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there; I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on snow, I am the sun on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning's hush I am the swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there; I did not die. I will always love you Mike. It is an honor to call you friend.

(((((Betsy))))) ....That is absolutely beautiful.........very touching. Crying again

Once in awhile I will take a glance at the board (When I am at work). I read about Beatnut And it hit hard .... it was so sad I was bummed out a strange thing .... I could not turn to the people I work with and explain to them about being bummed out by some guy who posts on the internet. Many of you here would know what I mean and the sadness of it all. So many times I looked forward to logging on to the board. If I saw Beatnut on the post ... I would go to that post to see what was in there .... I lost sleep at nights and was up early (before work) to catch up .... I remember thinking .... don't these people sleep? To the family members posting .... thank you for keeping in touch with the board ... peace and comfort to all of you.
-
Michael, I am so sorry for the loss of your Dad. I love the photo of Beatnut and Sadie. Sending Love and prayers to your family.

Michael thanks for these kind words. I appreciate it that you take the time to post in this thread for your father. I wish you all the strength in the world to deal with this loss. Love, Mieke

Ah Christ I remember That Beatnut was totally in love with Sadie. From the minute he saw they were fond of each other.

I post here every now and then but was also a part of the group that started on here oh so long ago. I have been hesitating on what to say here as I never met him but he, like so many others here, touched me. We would get into political disagreements but there were actually times we would agree on things. He always made me laugh with his innuendos but his heart would shine through whenever someone here had some sort of tragedy in their lives or some sort of greatness happening. I've always wished I could've meant him, and many others, but sadly that will never happen. His name for me was Chickie and mine for him, like most here, was Nutty or Mike. RIP Nutty/Mike. May your family know just how much we hope they find peace soon.
