A Cat Sanctuary In Hawaii : It was news to me tonight, thought I'd share it with you. The YouTube presentation is great, except the music was a bit corny (at least to me). See what you think ... Cuddle 500 Kitties At This Heavenly Cat Sanctuary In Hawaii
That is a great place! I assume all the cats are spayed or neutered or they'd end up with thousands of cats very quickly!
A fix has been administered to each of the "residents"

Monday is neuter day for Xander and now he has an irritated right eye!! Started drops. Will give him another today and 2 tomorrow so it should be ok on Monday. I'm going to tell them to just do the damn surgery and I'll sign a waiver! He is 6 months old now and starting to "go through puberty" so he is fighting a lot with the other cats. Have to get him fixed!

A few days ago, a black cat with a white "star" on it's chest just appeared out of nowhere. I think it may belong to someone, as it seems to be well fed. It comes meowing at me but if I have my Yorkies out, even tho' I keep them leashed, it will meow at them & me & will only get close to a point. If I'm alone, it will keep up a "conversation" with me. It's funny how I don't see it all the time, just here & there. And each time I see it, it's never in the same spot twice. Ghost cat??
-
My adopted cat goes out for an hour or less at a time. Less with the colder weather and/or rain. But she comes back in to used her box! Not aware of her using the "out-house"
-
Nov. 10th is Xander's turn to be declawed. He tore up the bottom of the Venetian blinds and destroyed some foam (for storing something in a box) in the basement. At least it wasn't anything super valuable like my son's Marshall speakers!

That's a Rock n' Roll cat!

My adopted cat, D.G. (dear girl) named by my brother which also happens to be the name of a distant cousin in our family. Anyway she starts sleeping on my chest, then possibly on my upper right or left side - her face near mine - before shifting to another part of the bed; but next to me, regardless
-
Change of plans. We're not getting Xander declawed. He has just been too disruptive to the other cats, especially Spike who started pooping and peeing in the corners (hardwood floors) and my daughter suggested fostering him out. She just adopted the sweetest brother/sister gray & black 4 month old tabbies from this guy who fosters cats and finds them good homes. They can't be declawed and have to have all their shots. Saturday we're getting him the distemper and leukemia vaccines. We've kept him in the basement since yesterday evening and since then Spike is back to his normal self and isn't hiding in the corner and acting out. It was driving my poor mother crazy and playing havoc with her blood pressure, so something had to be done.

Photobucket is down right now or I'd post some cute pics of my daughter's brother/sister cats that she just adopted. They are adorable (about 4 months old)
-
P.S. This morning got Xander tested for leukemia (negative) so he got the combo leukemia/distemper shot and the foster home wanted his nails clipped too. Total cost at Planned Pethood was only $60! Since he had just been there on Oct. 24th to be fixed, there was no exam fee either. Total would have been at least $225 at the regular vet. Tonight we will take him to the guy who will foster him and find him a good home.

cute pictures! This time of the year my cat sleeps in almost a perfect circle! I've only had her about 7 weeks.

A moving story for cat lovers ... even dog lovers are bound to be moved http://honesttopaws.com/benny-and-the-cats/

awwwwwwwww...(Nancy R's cat pictures) The new book about cats titled "The Lion in the Living Room" sounds charming. Cats don't help out like "rescue dogs" but they're still a bit of all right, aren't they

Cats do "help out." They can lower your blood pressure by petting them. They can sense when someone is sick and/or dying and go to them and comfort them. I've seen this with my own cats when my mom has been ill. I know some people are just not cat people and prefer dogs. I'm the opposite. It's hard for me to fathom someone not liking a sweet kitten or cat.

My cat, Dee Gee (Dear Girl) loves to sleep in full size grocery paper bags (when I'm not home).
-
Now that the nights are quite chilly, our cats are sleeping in our bed.

I'm with you on this, Nancy. One night my husband was downstairs having a seizure in the living room and our Maine coon can ran up into the bedroom where I was and just ran around in circles until I went downstairs to help my husband. Your cats are beautiful, btw.
