Glue paper. Not in my orbit. Hum. Sounds less bloody, though. Great idea on the hubby. Now if he will only do it.

So, I set up the trap with bacon in the repository. The next morning, the trap had been thrown across the room, bacon gone. Yikes. Didn't even GET the dude or dudette.

Next, going to get a couple of old fashioned mouse traps, the wooden kind.

My previous dog (a border collie ) ..... used to run through the whole house. One day he wiped out on the kitchen floor. When he tried to get up ... he skidded all over like a dog on ice. He stayed in a room with carpeting and did his best to avoid the kitchen .... or he ran as fast as he could and he fell again ... now it was turning into a block or a hurdle in thought ..... he was sore ... but some of it was now in his mind ..... I tried to get his confidence to walk across the floor .... he did better ... but started to slip ....quick panic and he ran as fast as he could with his legs slipping until he got to the carpet room again. Someone suggested dog booties .... I got them and put them on him .... of course he didn't like them and did like some of the dogs in the video .... but he was able to walk on the kitchen floor and not slip ..... I took his leash and gained some of his confidence .... although he was pretty stressed out .... it helped at first .... it just took a long time to get them on when I just wanted him to do a small jaunt to get to another room. Soon he was finding ways to get them off ..... he got some of his confidence back ... so they did help ..... I didn't put them on his feet in the ice or snow ....

^ LOL! We use them in the snow. I've probably said it before...but Lucy had frozen back feet in her previous life. Not that she was reincarnated but whomever had her before us had let her get frostbite. Her back feet are worse than the front so sometimes we only use the back ones. She seems to love having them on & goes running wildly about. But watch out when you try to take them off. Maybe her feet are a bit frozen again...but she'll fake snap at you. LOL. Little punk.

It is sloppy .... warmer ... but rain is washing slopping up the ground ... I say this .... because .... I have not walked with my dog for a few days or more .... shoveled snow and had him run around a nearby field .... I could have walked him today - but .... I would have had to spend a lot of time cleaning and drying him off ...... I am going to have to find a way to walk him ..... he runs fast in the field .... but it is a short burst and he needs that walk type of thing ..... you can see in the way he is more mellow with a walk ... it is tough to figure out when and how to do a walk in the slopppp

we have one park that has the track blacktopped & they PLOW IT too! (most of the time...been a little lazy this year). So it's great to walk on semi dry pavement & also the the snow to romp in...her not me.

I love all the dog stories and photos, I have not commented lately as it has been ruff, (pun intended), since my baby Yao died. Didn't wanna bring you all down. But a cute thing that my dog Rocketman does now. He sleeps right beside where I sleep. I mean right now I am sleeping on a couch, and he sleeps on a dog bed right next to where my head is. He keeps a watchful eye on me at all times. What I am trying to say is he and I are much closer now, since Yao died. He and I have a different more loving and protective relationship, as if it could have gotten more intense. I am grateful for his unwavering Love!

^ It's amazing how they can sense our moods at times. I hope he brings you comfort. Rocketman...really cute name especially since I know you like Elton.

I like how they tune into our moods and how they can "be there" and it is good I was in a company friendly walking competition part 3 this year and walked all the time .....it ended .... it snowed, rained, froze etc .... and the walking seemed to go away or used up shoveling snow ..... that being said ... if we stay clear for a short time .... I will try and get out there and walk my dog again (he did a lot of running in a nearby field .... but did not have the walk time) ... even if it means spending a lot of time cleaning him after the walk (dirt, mud, slush, snow etc...)
