Little Furby sadly crossed the rainbow bridge this weekend past. I can picture him with his young body again...chasing squirrels and happy.
So sorry to hear that. Who was Furby? Not yours was it?

Thanks so much Oobu. He was my sister's little dog who was the cutest little dog... He was 16 and I was his Auntie. We all gathered around my sister to give her support. He was loved so much and will be dearly missed. I lost my black lab years ago and he was irreplaceable. Could not go through the pain again.

I agree. They are "family". Mine has helped me "cope" the last few years.
Wonder what happened to Fool. Fool & Steven are MIA.

So sad about the Fool & Steven MIA Miss them too Hope all is well... Prayers

Thanks so much Paulfan11, he was such a wonderful boy. Had to drive back over and console my sister for a few more days. We celebrated him for a couple more days...it's just so sad when he's not following you around... A Dog's Purpose is a feel good movie when you lose a pet.

Thanks so much Fan4 there is such a quiet space where little Furbie once walked. We know he is out of pain now, which gives us comfort. Sigh...

Now that I am almost a Beatle's song (turning 64 soon; wife said she would still need and feed me), I am at that stage in my life where I LOVE dogs and generally like most people. Have basically had a dog in my life since I was six. Wendy, Jet (yep, named after an awesome Wings song), Tulip, Rose, and now Lily. Yep, my daughter took over the dog naming job, ha.

My dog's name is Willy. Can you guess what song I got that name from?

I sure hope it is from the great lyric "silly willy from that philly band" of ROCK SHOW!!!

Yep! You got it! And it's very appropiate for my boy!

Lily was supposed to be named Mrs. Vandebilt, but my daughter nixed it, even though she absolutely loves that song.

That would be a mouthful of a name!

I am a dog person and I have had three dogs in my life. They are great pets and they become part of the family. The last dog I had died several years ago at the age of 16, I was very suprised he lived that long since "Sonny" was a big dog Australian Shepard/Bernese Mountain mix. We got him from my oldest daughters 6th grade teacher who was moving from Charlotte NC to Rhode Island and asked the class if anybody wanted to watch/take care of "Sonny" for 6 months until their house was built. My daughter asked my wife if we could have him and she said it is up to your Father -lol. Of course, I said yes but warned everyone that we would probably get attached to him and it would be tough when he had to go back to his owner. "Sonny" was a gentle giant (great with children), great watchdog and we just loved him to death, he was quite a handsome dog also. When we got him, there was a two page list of commands that he would respond to when told, he was trained very well when we got him. Yes, we all loved him and then that dreaded day came when my daughter's teacher called us about "Sonny". He said to my wife if you have grown attached to him you can keep him, if not he would pick him up in a few weeks. We screamed with delight and said we would love to keep him !! Neat thing was the Sonny's original family came and visted him a couple of times which was very cool.
When he got old, my wife would tell "Sonny" that she could never "put him down" and wanted him to make the decision. Sadly one evening we came back from dinner and found that "Sonny" had died. Even in death, he honored my wife's request . I am not a man who cries often but have no problem saying I shed tears that night, I loved my big "puppy" so much. I said then that I would never have another dog because "Sonny" IMO was perfection.
So on a happier note, I love it when I see dogs and ask owners if I can pet them. I think they are great animals!!!
