......IN A HEARTBEAT

I'm leaning towards purple right now. I still have to go thru the formal approval process, but I'm optimistic it'll go my way. oobu24, I'm sooo sorry for your loss. Huggs. All I can say for you is you're in a place of ups and downs. Right now I'm in a down, but the wheelchair thing, plus my art help me thru. That and having a couple of good friends who let me talk things out. Reach out to your friends. They really are a comfort. Hang in there. You guys here are among those friends. Thanks.

Y'all sure got a doll baby Prime Minister, Laura I bet you don't mind seeing him all over the media there...that's got to cheer you immensely, to see and hear Justin Trudeau, he's so liberal and open minded too As you may have surmised, the U.S.A. is not in a good place lately regarding certain issues. It's very upsetting and disturbing. Makes me wish (again) I was from the Great White North and by "white" don't mean that in a racial context

Thanks LittleLaura. I've been in the DOWN mode for 6 weeks already. It's an entirely different world for me now. Not one I would have picked for myself. But I suppose & I hope I find my new normal. Thank you for the kind words. I like purple.

Little Laura... It's good to see you posting you are an inspiration Purple is a great color, hope that goes through for you, fingers crossed! Wondering about the art you mentioned?

I'll post an example soon.

Ummmm..I know. I think he's a keeper. I drew his Father's portrait and sent it to him after the election In spite of his crazy schedule, he wrote back in 2 weeks. He was thrilled. No....I won't be posting that one (or what Justin said either). I respect his privacy. But it did give me a thrill, I will say that.

^Did you do the Spence and Kate drawing above? It's fantastic!
-
Good to see you posting here Little Laura I like the Spencer (Tracey) & Kate(Hepburn) drawing - the gray tones are really nice. Doing cartoons - I have the cartoon scribble thread filled with many of my quick scribble cartoons. I also see that you have a thread for art type of conversation. Good to see that someone else here does some cartoons and shows them Earlier you asked as a poll what color for your new power chair (my vote would be purple ) I hope you get the one that you want

Oh "joy", another diagnosis to deal with. Just over a week ago, after enduring weird symptoms for most of July, I went to the Dr. Now I've got "Hypoglycemia"--which in a nutshell means I'm suffering from not enough blood sugar. So I have to now have six--6--little meals a day to keep the blood sugar up. Sigh. Oh well, it could be worse: It could've been Diabetes where I'd have to inject meself so many times a day. For those who want to know the (my) symptoms are: sudden onset of both extreme sweating and shaking, excessive tiredness, and your stomach not sure if it is hungry or nauseous. It strikes usually at least twice a day--morning and mid afternoon. In it's extreme form you can also become delirious, confused, and or faint. Thanks for all the compliments on my drawings, guys. Now I'm going to work on Obama. Yikes!

Sorry to hear... I have a bit myself...just carry some snack around with you, so if you're out, you can nibble. It can hit you all of the sudden and I've been known to say loudly, I have to eat NOW!!! When it strikes... But it's very controllable. Good luck to you! Can't wait to see your Obama picture!

It's been awhile. A lot has happened. 1st, I got quite sick. At the same time my left hip began to bother me more than usual. And kept escalating. Soon my pain was on that scale of 0-10, with 0 being no pain and 10 being terminal cancer, a 7. I went to my specialist who informed me that my hip replacement was falling apart. It would have to be redone. I don't know when, as there is quite a "wait list". Then I managed to badly twist my back on the the right side. Needless to say, I've hardly been able to move--or sit for too long. Also, just before my 5 yrs up before I could (maybe) get a new power chair, said chair broke down. I had no choice but to have it repaired. That cost so many $$$$$$, I had to bum from my Mum. I just couldn't turn around and get a new one after that. So it has been on hold. Then my (government) disability informed me they had changed Medical Providers. So I don't know WHERE I stand now regarding this chair. Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh!!!! : : :

Good to see you posting but sorry to read of all the problems. I hope they can get to your hip replacement sooner rather than later. Funny...I've been thinking of you & your title to this thread just recently. Last week in fact. Thinking about that...in a heartbeat. Hope it all works out for you.

Hi Laura, It's good to hear from you again! I'm sorry to hear about your struggles _ we had a past President who said, "I feel your pain". Well really, he didn't & I don't, but I do personally identify somewhat. I also have had extreme hip pains for years. Those pains seem to have subsided, only to be replaced by others! I've been taking some prescription pain medicine, when needed. I'm not sure that I'd survive a really bad fall without some likewise complications. Hope you have some good friends (in person _ not just internet) that can sympathize & even offer comfort (through it all).

Hi Laura, Have been wondering about you too...so sorry to hear about your recent setbacks with your hip and chair. I can't imagine how difficult it must be for you. Do you have someone who can help you navigate those issues, perhaps someone at your doctor's office? Google around, there are some sources of help in my state, hopefully there are some in your state. Sending thoughts and prayers your way, that you meet the right helpful person to get you some good answers...and quickly.... (((LITTLE LAURA)))

Thanks, guys. Your support really helps. I do have a few good friends who do their best to help me thru stuff like this and that helps. Will keep you updated when I can.

So sorry to hear about your Mom. That's no picnic...sending healing wishes out to you and you and your Mom. The surgery is really good, and so are the new artificial hips...so eventually she will be good as new. It's rough tho, having to deal with it. So sorry Little Laura.

I hope your Mom recovers soon, Laura.
