Why not "I'll be on my way"??
Because John sings lead.
On my Beatles @ The BBC CD, it sounds like Paul and John are singing the lead in unison.

I know this would never happen, as much as I like the Beatles, I would like to see a show with just his wings and solo stuff. Just pure McCartney.
I get what you're saying, and there are tons of tracks from that era...but it really wouldn't be "pure" McCartney...he existed as a songwriting force in the 60's as well.
Just pure McCartney, as far as just his stuff, no Lennon-McCartney, no Beatles, just songs written by him from 1970- current. Just something I would like to see him do.

Some people like oldies acts. I don't mind 'em, myself -- but I do when it comes to Paul McCartney. If it weren't for the two or three E_lectric Arguments/Memory Almost Full_ songs, as well as "My Valentine," I'd be concerned about Paul possibly falling into that category.

Sounds like Paul backing John to me. I hear much more John than Paul. Like in "I'll get you" Not that that stopped Paul from doing it briefly on tour

How is it an oldies act, if the songs were never played when they were "newbies"?

Maybe it's an old newbie or new oldie, Im not sure now im confused. McCartney can play whatever he wants to play.

I've said that for a long time...think he'll listen...nooooooooo. But really...he could bill it as such. I'd probably go to both! Do one night as usual & the next night knock our sox off BABY!

In the views of the public Paul has been an oldies act since the early-mid 80's, this opinion may have been revised to even longer ago because of Beatles revisionism which Paul is IMO largely to blame for. Anyway for songs I would really like to have in the setlist: The Fool On The Hill For No One (Slower versions of these songs in a lower key would really suit him I reckon... Also Beautiful Night (Probably my favourite overall Paul song in the last 20 years) And..... LISTEN TO WHAT THE MAN SAID (Paul are you listening?)
-
Think its got to a point now that Paul will always include Beatle songs in his shows wether we like it or not. Reaching his 70th milestone, I reckon he'll not wanna go changing his winning formula! With all the songs we've been crying out for him to play, will his voice still carry them through?!
-
That's another good reason why some people would like to hear more solo songs, many of his classic songs from the Beatles era don't sound all to great live these days. If he insists on performing that many Beatles songs I actually wish he would lower the keys of the songs because he REALLY is straining to hit some of those notes. Songs like Eleanor Rigby, Let It Be and even Hey Jude can only get more painful to listen to as Paul ages sadly.
-
Exactly. I'd like to hear more of his solo stuff before it's too late. He's catered to the masses long enough. He surely does not need the money anymore... Even if the shows were cut down by an hour.

On some of the Early Beatle Concerts - you could hear that they tuned the guitars down a half step (then you can play the same chords ) * it doesn't work that way for the keyboards and such

sure it does! there's a nifty little transpose button that will do the job even quicker than down tuning
