I wouldn't be opposed to a one-time-only performance of "Oh Darling" at the St. Louis show. And my projected attendance of this show has absolutely no bearing on this position.
He should definitely do it and to overcome the voice strain problems, he should lipsynch to it.
He already does John and George tributes...we don't need Paul to do a Britney tribute.

Has he EVER done Uncle Albert / Admiral Halsey in concert? That'd be a good one to hear. He could substitute that song in lieu of Get Back.

It has never been played live. EVER. Pretty sad, I'd LOVE to hear it. My heart may actually go BOOM if he plays it in St. Louis!!!

Not sure that's a song that would work in a concert environment.

Seriously?! It's the ultimate sing-a-long! "Haaaaands across the water, haaaaands across the sky" {everyone waves their arms back and forth and makes the little Wings handsign} It would be PERFECT.

Too many sound effects and "acting" parts in it, and Linda's voice would be missed.

Sound effects? Do you mean the thunder and rain? Wix can easily do that. Abe could do those silly vocal parts as well. They don't even sound like Linda, they sound like a silly voice, we just know it as Linda. It wasn't her "singing" voice really...ya know? I think it would be SUPERB.
-
I'd like to hear it, too -- but one or two of the other "heavy" piano songs would need to be omitted. Too many would drag the show's momentum.

That's interesting. I never envisioned it as a piano song. I always thought it would be another Bass song for Paul...of course, I also envisioned him playing a Rickenbacker on it...so maybe I'm just dellusional

I'm right along with ya there, WixRocs! I think it'd be a great sing along. And I've never noticed much piano in it at all. Wix can do sound effects. Abe can provide the odd voices - "the butter wouldn't melt so we put in the pie", etc. UA/AH always reminded me of an early version of Band on the Run. Each of those songs is like 3 totally awesome songs all rolled up into 1 song.

Paul should read these comments. After all, he's playing these songs for us isn't he. Who's to say he knows what we want. So why don't we, the paying concert fan, pick what he plays? Come to think of it, this concept should apply to all concerts. The audience pre-votes on-line as to what songs the band will play. Period. However, the artist is allowed to play 2 new songs (if they have new songs).
-
Just listened to it. You're right: Piano is very minimal in the mix. Still, I lump it in the same category as "Hey Jude," "Long & Winding Road," "Let It Be," etc.

Hahaha. You are watching an artist. Not a jukebox.

: When's the last time you put $267 in a jukebox in one sitting?

I definitely think it would suit that section of the set, just not with that precise of instrumentation. Also, there are rather distinct electric and acoustic guitar parts, so Brian couldn't be on bass realistically speaking.
-
I'd rather hear "Back seat of my car" a million times before "Uncle Albert".

I saw this song performed live by a Paul tribute act, and it was able to be done by a five man band, and it worked BEAUTIFULLY. Great crowd interaction, etc. It could work very well for Paul, as well.

Yes! Tony Kishman does it in his show too! (maybe that's who you're talking about)...and it is stellar!

I am just the opposite, I like Backseat, but way too many memories of me and my brother singing to the 45..LOL Great times.

How about adding to the setlist those songs that were recently performed live on special occasions? Goodnight Tonight Twist And Shout Money
