It kind of already has a moat and gun turrets. It's a well defended building. And compared to my first apartment, it is a castle.

LOL I'm sure it is well defended. Hard to believe people would even think of trying to get in... I've never seen anything about a moat. Perhaps it's some kind of James Bond moat... I do think they need a big draw bridge tho... And a big gold crown for the king. Lots of chocolate cake and fiddler's when Iraq...errmmm I meant Syria, is burning. Annnnnd some entertainment for the guests...

There is a higher middle ground between... commonism and oligarchy...where peace, prosperity and paradise waits
I believe that as well Steve... Trying to believe it into reality...
Yes...the far right oligarch supporters can't see it. They want to rule our world and turn the working people's incomes into low paid common...ism while they enjoy 99% of the money. If anyone mentions anything about balancing the wealth out, they immediately accuse you of supporting socialism and communism and such things as people's rights. They are steadily falling away although. The Alabama governor...Roger Ailes...and now Bill O'Reilly. Democratic Democracy keeps advancing!

Bill O'Reilly... that was huge....was surprised when sponsors started withdrawing. Perhaps, some of those on the right are getting fed up looking the other way, as well... I don't know how anyone on the right, can explain away Trump's gaff on which country he(Ivanka) had just bombed. That was astounding How can this be allowed, he is clearly unaware of what is going on, in his name!? Wondering about his factoid? We have 5X the arsenal of anyone. You just can't trust a word out of his mouth... I believe the chocolate cake story... A bit worried that my Social Security and retirement blew up with one of those 59 bombs...

O'Reilly wasn't fired because people were fed up. His fans are still on his side. It was all about money. The great thing about being a Trump fan is that they'll never have to give any excuses for his gaffs, incompetence, failures or rants. He went out of his way during the campaign to tell us all that he's not suited for the job.

My Bernie Sanders friends who voted for the other non winnable candidates, are now protesting the loudest. In spite of what they thought about Hillary, they are kicking themselves for putting Trump in the White House. One person in particular, whom I begged to vote for Hillary, for the lessor of two evils was my argument, now sees the error in judgement on that one and is not speaking with me. They had this idea that Trump would be held in check by our constitution and the other checks and balances. It's a shame that when the loss of money actually shows, it's still early, (20 billion for a wall and not spent on American people...not to mention the cost of the war?!) then and only then will we get some Trump voters to see the light. Some are seeing the light. That's my humble opinion and I know not everyone will agree yet. This alternate facts situation is not something that I ever expected to deal with in this country. Also reading about the Bill O'Reilly mess, how Fox News requires the women to wear dresses and cross their legs...

I voted for one of those "non-winnable" candidates. I can't be blamed at all for putting Trump in the White House. For one thing, I've opposed the electoral college for years. If we had direct vote, not only would Clinton have won, but those non-winnable candidates would stand a much better chance. The electoral college pretty much guarantees that only the corporate parties can win. And Clinton won my state by a mile. Nothing would have changed no matter who I voted for. Had I voted for her, she would have one more vote in her total. But the popular vote doesn't count. And I'm an absentee voter. They rarely count my vote anyway.

Hailey, I'm not blaming you for putting Trump in the White House. Quite frankly, I think if you look at it honestly, Bernie is the one to blame. In the same situation, with Hillary and Obama, in the previous election, Hillary recognized that she needed to withdraw early and put her voters behind Obama. I was really sad, as I really want a woman in the White House, as an example to young girls, especially, in this country. Having grown up in this country, and being told in so many ways that I needed to "act like a lady". "Give credit for your work to the men, " pretend you are not so smart" "walk two steps behind" don't try for anything more than being a teacher or a secretary". Know your place", and so many other limiting beliefs...I really wanted Hillary to win. In spite of everything, she was tarred and feathered for the same things that male presidents have always gotten away with. The sad thing is, that some ladies, are some of the people who are holding that tar brush in their hand too. Look what Trump is getting away with now!!! So getting back to Bernie, he didn't withdraw as early as he should have, and he is smart enough to know that he was taking away votes from Hillary. He also held the tar brush in his hand. He could see, like we all saw, how truly corrupt, hateful, depraved and malevolent Trump was. In spite of that, and I think it was his ego... He handed the Presidency to Trump...by staying in the race till the end. He should have withdrawn earlier. He sat at the Democratic Convention with a sour face, he should have been much more active in supporting Hillary, felt he was half hearted about it. Comey also was involved. Sadly, the men's club is so afraid of having a woman in charge, we are now on the brink of a nuclear war. I've worked hard all my life...a lot of baby boomers have too...will we even be able to retire? Or will our retirement money, go to building a wall that will cost 20 BILLION dollars!!! Rounding up all of the criminal Mexicans, we are spending how many hundreds of thousands of dollars per person. Did you see that there is a group of psychiatrist at Yale have deemed Trump mentally ill. They feel he is dillusional, citing his insistence on the size of his inauguration crowds, or his reading polls incorrectly. They are speaking up, because they fear he is a threat to the American people, and our way of life. He is not acting responsible, nor ethically, as someone who holds prime responsibility for the lives of the American people. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/donald-trump-mental-illness-signs-yale-psychiatrist-dr-bandy-lee-dangerous-us-president-goldwater-a7700816.html

I am so, so tired of Hillary hacks still re-fighting the primary battle with Bernie, who went all in to support her even when some of his supporters were reluctant. And he ran a MUCH milder primary campaign against her than he could have, and than most primary candidates do (including Hillary when she ran against Obama in 200. I voted for Hillary Clinton and really wish she'd won instead of the deranged con man now sitting in the White House. But Hillary was a terrible candidate, which was obvious a year before the election. In a vote that turned out so close (remember the electoral college turned on about 70,000 votes in 3 states), you can plausibly blame a whole lot of factors -- the Russians, James Comey, Jill Stein, etc. etc. -- but in truth this should not have been a close election. A strong Democrat (I was always hoping for Elizabeth Warren, personally) would have won by 10 million votes and swamped the electoral college. (FYI, I'm not one of those who thinks Bernie would surely have won; it would have been a different campaign, but he had plenty of vulnerabilities of his own).

Is it better to be a woman in the United States now than it was 30, 40, 50 years ago?
-
Yes. Despite certain things. Such as (biggie) "The GOP War on Women"
-
I was lucky enough to be born after women were seen as property, but I got some of that "act like a lady" and "pretend not to be smart" nonsense. I always thought my parents were crazy for telling me that I had to dumb it down to land a man. Then I discovered the internet.

Sister (a radio addict) shrieking with fear of North Korea nuking the East Coast U.S.A. again and once again other media make the situation seem not quite so dire and I'm wondering if radio exaggerates and sensationalizes like hell. It's true Kim J. I. announced their missile to reach the U.S. has finally worked, its capability, but I read in a newspaper it still doesn't have the ability to attach a Nuke to it--something like that. I'm wondering what's the real skinny. I did feel more flashes of intense fear after her tirade last night. She's so high strung. I did see online while ago what appears to be some good news about the U.S. and Russia brokering a "cease fire" in Syria after Trump meeting with Putin. Hope that's true.
-
Even if North Korea could launch nuclear missiles at the United States, and their leaders were crazy enough to do it, it would never happen. China loves it when North Korea annoys the US, but they would never allow a nuclear attack against such an important trade partner. I wouldn't be surprised if China reigns in North Korea completely once they replace the US as the dominant super power.

The missile the Koreans tested recently might just barely reach Alaska or Hawaii, not mainland U.S. and certainly not the East Coast. But sooner or later, they'll have one that will. That said, the big danger is not that they'd nuke us, which would be suicidal, but that they'll act belligerently in other ways because we'd know they could take out a major city or two if they wanted. Crazy leaders with nukes are generally not a good idea, whether it's Kim Jong Un or Trump.

We're only 80 miles from Ft. Bragg. Seems like that would be a major target
