VIP Packages

Have you clicked on the links for any of the sites that tell you what comes with the sound check package? I have done one sound check through Slotix. That was St. Louis last November in an arena. I'd guess we were about 30 or so rows back during the sound check. Yes, they perform complete songs. The band did discuss things before going in to the next song. At the St. Louis sound check, Paul read off signs, but nobody was called on stage. It wasn't for lack of trying on the part of the fans. I bought the $1500 package and we were in Row 5, dead center. With the exception of my first row experience back in 1993, these are by far the best tickets I've ever had. There is a vegetarian meal served. You also get goodies. In St. Louis, we received our goodies at the meal. I was told we did not have a very good host as Paul usually interacts more with the fans and the host usually gets the fans all worked up. This one did not. Yes, it was worth it, but my budget will not allow it again.

Okay, I'm kind of freaking out here. I ordered Gold Hot Tickets through Ticketmaster on the presale. Got my order number and everything. Then when the general sale went on I bought 2 more tickets for my friend up in the stands. Well, both sets of tickets said they've printed and shipped. Well, my friends tickets have arrived but my Gold Hot Tickets haven't. Do those ship later with the merchandise? Did TM mess up? Should I contact TM? I've never bought Gold Hot Tickets before so I'm at a loss what to do here. If anyone could give me any info about this, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thanks maccascruff, Yeah, I had read what the vip package was, but that is so vague!! My post was merged with this thread, which I had not found, so I read through everything here too. I've got a better idea now -- sound check sounds like the best option, almost a whole hour of extra songs in such a small audience setting, sounds great!! I'm pretty short, 5'2" so I worry about floor seats!!! How about cameras etc, are those allowed in? It seems like there is a lot of recording going on, bits on youtube etc. I would want to just enjoy the time and not be worried about recording it, but it would be nice to do a little if they allow it, either the soundcheck or the concert.

camera's are fine as long as they do not have detachable lenses... best bet, DO NOT RECORDED SOUNDCHECK- YOU WILL BE KICKED OUT... other than that.. Sound check is wonderful.. magical brilliant fun!!!!

You can take cameras in, just not professional recording equipment. No one minds digital snapshots, but have a good zoom, as you are back by the sound equipment. Of course, for the show, you have better seats. it's not really a VIP experience, but it is very fun to be there for a sound check. I thought mine was really good in Toronto, as it involved the bagpipes for Mull of Kintyre - so it truly was a rehearsal. I am going for quantity this year, vs quality - 4 shows with one Gold ticket, vs 1 soundcheck. I don't regret doing the soundcheck - it's an experience - wish I could do four. But I can't, so I'll be happy further back. Have fingers crossed I can get tickets for Quebec City!

BUMP* just wanted to bump this up for some of the 1st timers to read. It covers a few important topics...cameras, food, smoking, etc.

Looks like it will just be me going for a change -- no daughter, no husband -- so thinking about splurging for a hot sound package @ Candlestick. I've always wanted to experience sound check so I think this is the time. Was wondering what type of seat I should expect. I know there's a front row package and it specifically states "side section" in other venues. I would prefer center section as close and as dead-center as possible. Is this reasonable? What have others got with the hot sound package at other venues? I'm getting nervous about the presale on Tuesday, and want to be as mentally prepared as possible. Thanks!

Hi...for the Hot Sound Package you can expect a seat anywhere from Row 3 to Row 7 or 8. These will be offered in the center section (in front of Paul). Those packages sell for $1500.00 The Front Row Package, which sells for $2000.00 offers front row seats, however they are located in the floor side sections (in front of Rusty and Brian). Both packages include the sound check. Best of luck purchasing tickets!!

I think hot sound is your best bet if center position is the key element for you. I've read that people were disappointed with front row because it was so far to the side. It will be even farther away with the special stage that lifts up in front of the normal stage.

Actually, the mini stage in front gives those in the front row side sections a better angle to see the entire stage...even though it moves everyone back several feet.

Thanks! I'm going to try for Hot Sound and hope to get row 3-5. From previous shows I've found it's a huge difference being center vs off to the side on the floor. For instance, I actually had a better view from row 15 or 20 center than row 10 near the side. Saving $500 is also good

Last year in Memphis I got row D, middle section between Rusty & Paul. This year for Atlanta I have row C, right in the middle of the center section! Good luck tomorrow. P.S. I always use Ticketmaster (just make sure you're registered and logged in before 9 am local time) (the email was contradictory and also listed the time as 10 am local time!) Paul's site is notoriously slow. Last year I tried his first and also had the TM window open, so switched to it right away. Just select your one ticket, Hot Sound Package, Best Available, then you have to type the 2 words they list to prove you're a real person! Let us know how it goes!

The website pre-sale definitely starts at 9am local (venue) time.

We are aware of this, Nancy! That is why we checked back and had the 9am local (venue) start confirmed. At some point on Monday, there will be information posted about the website pre-sale at the main site and at Paul's social networks, emphasizing the start time of 9AM local (venue) time.

Funny, I was just searching for a seating chart and came across a site that already has tickets for sale! Center section, rows 1-17 is only $4500 :

Those are scalpers who don't actually have the tickets yet, but they "plan" to. Stay away from that site!

The LA show VIP tickets were sold through the Dodger site (tickets.com I guess), so yes, you are good to go!

Not Ticketmaster.com, but Tickets.com? I have no idea. I know you will receive instructions (email) from Ticketmaster about the time to arrive, etc.
