I agree, other than the times I got upgraded to front row center, my front row experiences were less than stellar and certainly not worth paying more money

You should try coming here next time. I got front row center twice last year (including the opening night of the current tour) for less than the $1500 he charges in the US and had a good time at the beach.

Same here. I did Chicago 2011 at Wrigley. OMG hot. And humid. I cannot stand the heat & humidity.

Gosh! Now I am a little nervous that our seats for Nashville aren't gonna be where I think they are. We've got section 2 seats 7 and 8... The map on ticket master says it's in the center of row 3. I hope it's accurate. Do you just know any other way to tell?
We were all nervous about our seats for Lincoln too! I had 3rd row, seat 11 in the center section. The TM diagram for the show was 3 sections separated by aisles. However we found out after we bought tickets that the first 5 rows would go all the way across (I believe it was this way in Chicago too) . . .WTF? What they did was start renumbering where the 3 individual sections would have started. So in that 3rd row, there was a seat 1 at the very right, then another seat 1 where the aisle would have been in the middle, etc. I was really relieved to finally get to my seat and see where it was
Same with us in Chicago, I was row 3, seat 2...I didn't know if I was 2nd from the end,or in the middle...ends up I was 2nd from the middle of row !

I too was trying to figure out how they number the seats for the front few rows that have no aisles.

Linda, I'm so sorry to read about your experience. I find it is always better to do the $1500 pkg instead of front row. Front row is almost NEVER center section, but the side sections. The only saving grace is most venues allow the front row to stand at the rail. Last year I got super lucky and pulled up front row center for (for Boston, I think?) but that's the only time it has happened.... Were you allowed to stand at the rail?
Stood at the rail the entire show. Since I couldn't see much except for the big screen, I was able to have a chat with MJ Kim and Brian Riddle. Riddle had just read a younger 20ish fan the riot act and he was shaking his head about it. She wasn't listening to venue security, so Brian got involved. She listened to him. I did have to talk to Security because people kept trying to get me to move over so they could take a few pictures. The woman video taping forever was the last straw. I went and told security how much I paid for the ticket and to keep the would be photographers away. Nobody else bothered me. I did get to see some interesting things. I could see the bus had pulled in when the band left the stage after the 1st encore. I could see the feet turn around under the curtain between encores, so I knew when they were coming back. I had no idea of everything Brian does during a concert. I had talked to the venue and was told the seat was located elsewhere. It's done now and it's over. I pouted a few minutes and then decided to make the best of it.

There were no seat numbers on the Ticketmaster site or the venue site so I did call the box office to see where my seat would be located. They didn't know what they were talking about as it wasn't where they told me it would be. There had been seats in the front row center before I pulled the trigger, so the delay cost me. I am also too old and can't deal with the heat. Will never again do a GA show and never again do an outdoor show. I won't take the chance. An outdoor show last week in the Midwest would have been wonderful, but who knows by the time of the Minneapolis show what the weather will be. I loved the sound check and the veggie meal. The people I met were great. I still look on my grand finale with fond memories. Just wish I had a good camera but I couldn't justify spending money for one concert. A good camera doesn't matter at other concerts I attend.

What was the 20ish fan doing that got Brian involved?
-
She was trying to get between the barricades and the wall between the upper bowl. She tried to push it open so I think she thought she was going back stage. She was not listening to the venue security so Brian took care of her. My guess is he said she'd be tossed out. It was near the end, but not the very end.

People are strange! Did she think she'd make it very far if she had gotten through? Glad Brian took care of it.

Like I said, I had never been at the barricade before and had no idea of how busy Brian works during the concert. I've talked to him at limo watch. This isn't 1964. She was not getting on stage. No way was that going to happen. There was other security past the barricade besides Brian, but Brian was pointing at her. I just wish I had heard what he said. He looked at me as he walked by, shaking his head, and said there sure are crazies out there. She was not going past the barricade. She is lucky she didn't get tossed out.

Brian is a real good guy, and he takes his job very seriously! He's a nice guy to talk to, but when he's busy doing his thing he doesn't let anything get in the way!

I like Brian - anyone who is looking out for the safety of Paul and everyone else involved is a good guy. I was at Wrigley Field in 2011 on the second night when the police led Paul to another entrance - Brian was pissed (as the rest of us were who'd been camped there for 2 hours)!

I just wish I could understand half of what Mr. Riddle says.

You should be around when my Scottish friend is talking to Brian. She does interpret later with the short version of where Paul will be.

Funny how you need to have English translated into English.

There is an episode of House Hunters International where somebody is looking for a flat in Edinburgh. A Canadian friend is with him and he is being shown around by a realtor from Edinburgh. There are some problems and a man from Glasgow looks at the problems. The episode has subtitles. It is hilarious!

I have a good friend from Edinburgh who I've spent a lot of time with going back many years, and also have made several trips to Edinburgh and two very quick but special visits to Glasgow in Dec. 1979 . So I'm used to the accent and don't have a problem understanding it, but agree it does take some practice.

I do fine with my friend from Edinburgh. Takes about 10 minutes for me to get used to it as we don't see each other very often. It was fun to overhear her using my cellphone last year here in the US for a phone call that should have taken 10 minutes that took about an hour because neither party understood the other one.
