I think that's two members from that cast to pass away in recent months

Actually one year to the day from whe Wayne Rogers ('Trapper John')

Some Net posters jumped on Steve Martin's case for calling Carrie Fisher "The Most beautiful creature I'd ever seen" and then saying he was "amazed" when he found out how witty and funny she was...they complained he made her sound like just a sex object he had the hots for and also that he was startled and amazed that a female could be smart and witty. I'm not sure I agree with the harsh naysayers (Martin removed his tweet, after the uproar). My sister for one said she thought what he said was okay. Do you agree his Carrie tweet was offensive? Or disagree? Seems so sad and tragic to lose Fisher and her mother Debbie Reynolds in two days. One right after the other... They were national treasures. Such a loss

Not surprising that the Universe would give Father Mulcahy the last word on 2016.

Yes, not surprising...he seemed such a sweet gentle soul. One of my favorites on MASH t.v. series.

The problem with tweets (being a pretty avid Twitter user) is that they can easily be misunderstood if you aren't careful. I'm sure he meant well but it came off in a way that some people found off-putting. You have to choose your words carefully (something I hope our president-elect will eventually figure out).

Don't hold your breath on that one!

Twit...slang definition *an annoying person. "We like you, but if you can't enjoy happy hour without becoming such a twit, I'll have to volunteer as the designated driver next week so we can leave when you're in the restroom." There are certainly "Sweeter Tweeters" But, there does seem to be a few "King Twits"

The Chinese news I have playing in the background is saying that Charles Manson just died. I'm not sure if he gets a RIP, but I suppose it's notable.
-
I suppose it's not possible to have Carrie Fisher back in exchange for Manson, huh? A search on both Google News and Twitter turns up no confirmation of his death thus far.
-
I just read that he was ill and hospitalized. http://www.cnn.com/2017/01/03/us/charles-manson-hospitalized/

It looks like they jumped the gun on that one. What's weird is they did a full report with Sharon Tate/LaBianca, Terry Melcher and Gerald Ford. They even mentioned the White Album. It wasn't just a quick blurb.

Sad news. I believe one of our old boardies, Luke Owens, had Tony do the invitations to his wedding in that "Beatle poster" style. (Luke is from Liverpool) He posted it on one of the threads here.
