That was a wonderful obituary Dave. So sorry for your loss. Soon (Jan. 6th) it will be 2 years since I lost my dad (also a WWII Army vet) at the age of almost 90.

I tried to embed a video in my 1st post. Now I quoted myself. Let's see if the video shows up.
Can someone check why this is happening?

I knew her from the Dick Van Dyke Show when I was little, but had no idea until fairly recently what and enduring and varied career she'd had. Hey, 2017, can we stop with the deaths now?

Jerry Van Dyke star of Coach, Dick VanDyke's younger brother. He was 86.

Oh damn. Dick Van Dyke, who's still kicking in his 90s, must be having a rough time losing his brother and costar so close to each other.

French singer France Gall, 70, had not known about her until today. I like what I heard on youtube. Her singing is upbeat, infectious, feel good. This song of hers about Ella Fitzgerald is a real gem:
"Ella, elle l'a"

Tony Calder, English record manager, died January 2nd at age 74 of pneumonia. (“Magic” Alex Mardas died almost a year ago, same age, also of pneumonia!)
-
Ray Thomas, of The Moody Blues, died Jan. 4th at age 76.

Very sorry to hear about Ray. "For My Lady" is one of the most beautiful songs ever written.
"Ray Thomas, a founding member of the protean British rock group the Moody Blues, died on Thursday at his home in Surrey, south of London. He was 76.
His death was announced by his label, Esoteric Recordings/Cherry Red Records. The label did not specify the cause, but Mr. Thomas said in 2014 that he had prostate cancer."
