Oh no, not Don Everly. This one really hurts. I don't really have strong feelings about an afterlife, but one can only hope that Don and Phil are indeed "on the wings of a nightingale"now.

Love that song.....the absolute perfect song for the Everly Brothers, which was fitting since the they were so influential on Paul and John and on The Beatles. Paul gave them a song that was as good as anything they had ever written or that had been written for them by anyone else...and would, had it been available to them to record in the 60's, have been a very very big hit for them....as big as any they had during their big run. My favorite song of theirs is "So Sad (To Watch Good Love Go Bad), but this one ranks right next to it....in retrospect...and as I listen to all their songs now. It and "Let It Be Me." Paul can be very proud of himself. And I do have very strong feelings about an afterlife, so they are together....maybe with John and George....!

Oh WOW! He just announced a few weeks ago that he wouldn't be touring this time around. And that he just needed some time to recover from a heart operation.

Just came here to post this. Who would have thought any of the Rolling Stones (not counting Brian Jones) would go before Keith Richards?
Very sad.

Many of you may have already heard this famous Charlie Watts story, but it bears repeating!

That was a better telling of the story, than I one I had heard. Very sad indeed. That was a great link there, thanks.

The entire reunion album, "EB '84," is great. In addition to Paul's contribution, "The First in Line" is also gorgeous -- a quiet tune sort of in the tradition of "Let It Be Me," with exquisite harmonies. And last night I pulled out my copy of their 1986 followup, "Born Yesterday," which is also a fine piece of work.
