Sir Paul McCartney's wife Nancy Shevell, 62, wears a £450 Beatles sweatshirt designed by stepdaughter Stella as she enjoys a stroll with the singer, 80

Seriously?  Stella may be a great designer, but this sweatshirt?  That's outrageous, both the "design" and especially the price. Maybe $50 AT MOST!

Great!  Then.....the one I really really want next is "Rubber Soul."  All too frequently the vocals on the songs come out of one side of the mix and the instruments out of the other....very noticeably on "In My Life,"  one of their best ballads.  The group recorded 16 great tracks during the session for the album....includining the single "We Can Work It Out/Day Tripper" left off the album. The band really hit their stride on this album! Having the whole batch remixed is what I have been waiting for!  I believe the song "Nowhere Man" from the "Rubber Soul" album was remixed in or about 1999 for the "Yellow Submarine Songtrack" album.  It sounds terrific and gives us an idea how great ALL of the songs from "Rubber Soul" can sound!

On Resident Alien, this couple was trying to put some spark back in their marriage, so the guy calls his wife from the living room when she goes into the kitchen and they end up talking for 3 hours like when they first met. Part of the conversation:

He says:  You can tell a lot about a person based on who their favorite Beatle is.

She says:  Okay, let's see - John Lennon.

He:  Hah, that's obvious - you play the guitar and you smoke a lot of '60s hash.

      She: What's hash?

He:  From what I've read, it's a mixture of armpit hair and dryer lint.

      Good answer!!!  laughlaugh

Some nice ones on that album.  I would guess my favorite is "Don't Let It Bring You Down."

Interesting.  I always thought Paul's gorgeous"Motor of Love"from FITD sounded a lot like "I'm Not In Love" by 10cc.

Apparently, at Glastonbury he said that it was the last night of the Got Back tour.  That surprised me as I thought it would continue with UK/European, and South American dates.  Perhaps these will occurr in the autumn as part of a newly named tour?

Or maybe he plans on recording new music!!!!!! wink

Why is it that even though the Beatles tied for first place with Hey Jude being at #1 for 9 weeks, they put Theme From A Summer place in the #1 spot?!

The Beatles are also represented in other spots in these 44 songs: IWTHYH, Can't Buy Me Love, Get Back, Yesterday.

      One of those mysteries!

Anybody who still gets a newspaper, check out today's Pearls Before Swine!

Cute! (The "Mutts" strip often has Beatles references, too. I've cut out quite a few.) For those without an actual paper: http://www.gocomics.com/pearlsbeforeswine

      Thanks for posting that!

"Pearls......" just did a good one (very lengthy) on John lennon's "Imagine"...on Sunday, June 26, 2022.  My favorite is the White Album reference from a few years ago.   laugh
