@jimmix said in RIP...for all that have passed:
One of my classmates from high school died on the Edmund Fitzgerald that Gordon Lightfoot wrote the song about.

Sigh... Gordon Lightfoot was an excellent songwriter, and I'm a little sad that I lost track of him after he stopped having hits. I saw him at the Hollywood Bowl circa 1975, after "Sundown" had been all over the charts, and it was an excellent show -- no frills, no special effects, just music.

I always thought he was British

@njr Wasn't there a story that "The church bell chimed 'til it rang twenty-nine times" was really 32 times. Gordon left the sound recording as is, but correct the number in Live concerts?

I never heard that. There were 29 onboard who all died.

David Bowie and Rod Stewart collaborator Linda Lewis dead at 72
Lewis was born Linda Ann Fredericks in West Ham, London in 1950, and later attended stage school and did some acting. She appeared as a screaming fan in the Beatles film A Hard Day’s Night in 1964.

I think Phill Collins was in there somewhere too.

Yes, he was one of the few boys in the audience during the concert scene. He hosted the special “The Making Of A Hard Day’s Night” and pointed himself out. (He was 13 years old then)
