Sorry, but this is just nonsensical. There's no One Right Way to pay tribute to someone. If "Let It Be" was special to Jimmy as he was close to death, then it was the absolute right thing for Paul to sing, and we have no way of knowing what happened between them during Jimmy's last days. I criticize Paul all the time, but this is a silly thing to be upset about.
Give me a break. I mentioned my opinion and responded to others, not upset in the slightest. Try reading all the posts on this thread before responding with your statement. I said in another post that if Let It Be" was special to Buffett then it is fine for Paul to sing it. I added that IMO then he should have sang a Buffett song also.
Once again, my opinion is that a tribute to musical artists is about their music not other artists. At the "Concert For George", Paul sang only songs that were written by George (solo/Beatles), he did not break out and sing something like "Yesterday". Ok, I am done with this thread.
BTW - If you are going to post about the group the "Lemon Twigs" and your love of their music, it would be nice if you responded to comments made about your posts. Politeness with a response would be nice. This forum does notify you when somebody responds to your thread/post.
I saw your last post re: Lemon Twigs, but didn't have anything more to add to the conversation, so I didn't say anything. I think it looks rude to always seem to be trying to have the last word. Sorry if that offends you.
