A guy at work, walked me through how to get my air conditioner back on, got home...did what he told me and....such a peacefully cool night of sleep!!!
We used to have rolling blackouts from time to time. I can't sleep in 90% humidity without air conditioning. It's just not going to happen.

Going to see the toon musical "Sing" again Monday, really anticipating that--and on the big screen again, too--it's so cute and features some good songs (including some bars from Macca's "Golden Slumbers" at the start).

No humidity all week!
-
Feeling thankful for family, air conditioning and after yesterday's video...feeling very thankful for indoor toilets!!! Thank you Mr. Alexander Cummings and Mr. Thomas Crappper

I had two fans , the over head one and a big square one, pointed straight at me...it was still uncomfortable tho.

L2T... That NOVA on sky tombs is very interesting. Thanks! How on earth could people live at those altitudes?

^ You're very welcome Steve... Thought you might like that...Your lungs adapt, when I moved to Denver, a mile up, it takes a while, but you adapt. Machu Pichu is very high. Was in a town called Angel in Ecuador, it was so high, you looked down at the clouds down the mountainside! The good news is that in spite of a flat tire found as I was heading to a concert, I managed to get to the rental car place 5 min before they closed. Hit delayed traffic of 1 more hour on the way...Got there 2 hours late and the band had been delayed also!!! So I didn't miss a second. Sooooo Happy

NOVA is actually coming on here in a bit. Hopefully, that is the one they will show and I'll be able to watch it on my 32" Full HD TV. It is very interesting how life adapts to circumstance. I remember reading years ago how Argentine people transpire heat between their veins and arteries to keep them warmer.

I've never heard that before I worked outdoors for 18 years...a bit rough in hot summers and blizzards, most people don't even realize what that's like. To an extent, you do get used to the temperature extremes as well. Or...you can buy a couple of thermacare heat pads and foot and hand warmers, and then stick them all over your body in the winter that helps. In the summer, those spray bottles with icy water to cause some evaporation, removing heat... And a cold cloth dipped in ice water on the back of your neck ...I never checked, but it seems that body temps may be regulated in that spot on the lower back of your neck...it seemed to work for me! It was on my Nova tonite...Here's another link... Ice Mummies of the Inca...just like Otzi of the Alps. Crimson blood poured out of the veins... http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/ancient/ice-mummies-inca.html

Thanks, SS. Not very busy this week--that's the way it is freelancing. I'm looking for a part-time job to supplement.
