Anyone been to see this? I saw it last night and was rather disappointed. Lots of hype and 5 star reviews but it just didn't live up to it in my opinion. Visually the movie is stunning, but once you've got over that it becomes rather dull and predictable.

I haven't seen it either. But I did see a bunch of good reviews.

I rarely go to the theater to see movies ..... but I did go to see Gravity. I watched it in 3D. (Which I usually don't do that either). It is a good big screen movie *(as much as I either heard criticism or praise) ... since I rarely go to the movies .... I wanted to enjoy it ..... I took it all in .... enjoyed the escape from everyday and did like some of the 3 D effects. if you can watch it for what it is and not worry if they are doing the right things or hitting the right buttons ..... you will probably enjoy it

Interesting... I think I would like to see it in 3D as well, but I'm afraid it might be too much! Was not happy with the new Superman too much smashing of things for me

Thanks for your thoughts & pulling the whole train of thought the opposite direction. I'm not sure what my chances of still seeing it in 3d - I may opt rather to see it in dvd format.

You are correct on the first ... and I have no opinion on the second (since I haven't seen either picture).
