It's working now but wow the situation has really deteriorated since I last looked at it looks like some cars that were left there are now in about a foot of water. It will probably get a lot worse during the night. Take care folks!

It's even windy here in Atlanta and we lost the local HD channels. (OMG, I have to watch non-HD!)
-
I hope all of you (in the area) will be ok, and don't be hurt.

Prayers of safety and protection to all of you affected by this storm tonight... This is the scariest storm I have ever been in....Sitting here in the dark, listening to the gusts up to 85 mph and my house creaking...things banging around outside... Glad Jenny LP got off of LBI...it can't be good there. Thankfully I have had friends to keep me company on Skype and the phone....I feel like a little kid shaking in my boots...So I'd better try and save some battery power. Have decided to crank up the iTunes to block out the noises of the wind and house. Going to try some Bailey's now...lol I am starting to get scared.... what is banging against the house... This really is the storm of the century...can't wait for daylight... Looking for my ruby red slippers, in case the house decides to take off...

Thanks so much for your kind thoughts... just wore my computer battery out with a few ELO albums cranked up louder than the wind.... Thank God for music!!!! the wind seems to be quieter now.... Wish I could sleep, will try more Bailey's .... lol...I'm not a big drinker, but this sure seems like the night to make an exception!!! Hope everyone is doing well... This will be the one storm many will not forget....be safe everyone...

Following your fortunes via various US channels and the internet. It seems highly likely many of you are, or will be knocked out power wise for a while - possibly a long while if this is a serious as the "worst-case" scenario planners suggest. Just take care and conserve your resources - esp mobile phone and radio batteries, these are the life blood of the emergency services and you should keep those options alive as long as you can - even if it means abandoning us here. Remember mobile/cell phones consume power even on standby - consider shutting one family phone down completely to preserve it's power against the need to make an emergency call later through the emergency. So if that takes you off-line for a while, just remember our thoughts are with you all. Check back in to reassure us you've come through safely but deal with the important issues first - we'll be patient. (((((Hugs)))))) Martin

We're just getting over the rain here--it sounded like I was sleeping in a waterfall last night. That's probably why I'm awake at 3:15 a.m. The flood watch here is still in effect, which is the more dangerous part, and the high wind warning should be finished in a few hours. The sad thing is that Vermont isn't getting the brunt of the storm, and we're all on lockdown here. My thoughts go out to our members in the NYC area!

Be safe everyone out there!
-
Take care when you do get out. One of the overnight fatalities was someone stepping into a pool of water electrified by a downed power line. Invisible but deadly. Martin
-
Heard that this storm is SO strong it has brought much of the sea life on land. There are reports that sharks have been seen in the flooded areas. Be safe out there where ever you may be.
-
Yes Martin, very true! Downed Electrical lines are not something to take any chances with.
-
10-4, over and out........ stay safe America. We'll keep ya informed from the other side of the pond, we're holding up as well as can be expected.

I can't imagine waves of water this high!
