My health tip for the day (let's hear more from you:-))
-
Eat half of your snack, then put away for later
-
^ You can do that with your American sized lunch as well, and have the other half for supper! Get a doggie bag if eating out, and stop eating when you hear yourself sigh...that means you're full! I can't say enough good about the Fitness Pal app to keep track of what goes in your body...
-
Don't take a lot of drugs and drink heavily and smoke a lot
-
Drink lots of water when the heat is on
-
For those who can't afford a squatty potty...just raise your feet up to the tips of your toes when you're sitting on the throne...it works!
-
Pay attention to the signals your body sends you it could save your life Love doris

"behave as if you have courage, and you will have courage"

If you are a smoker, drink at least one glass of Nestea Apple or something that is rich in Vitamin C everyday. Couple it with Fudgee Barr or veggie burger or anything you desire to prevent stomach ache.

I have been hearing this talk show host talking about tumeric. Anyone take this? He claims he & his wife are both taking it & feel wonderful & has even given it to hos aging dog. The dog couldn't jump up in the truck anymore & now he can. It has helped the people too. Sounds too good to be true. http://www.healthdiaries.com/eatthis/20-health-benefits-of-turmeric.html

Drink water, stay hydrated esp when it's hot & humid.

Were you able to find this at a local store, or did you order it? I get achy joints, back and knees sometimes (all those years spent as a gymnast, did a number on my body!) I may have to try this stuff.

Curcumin in Tumeric seems to be the wonder... Here is The Mayo Clinic's weigh in... "Curcumin, a substance found in the spice turmeric, has long been used in Asian medicine to treat a variety of maladies. Now some research suggests that curcumin may help prevent or treat cancer." "Curcumin is thought to have antioxidant properties, which means it may decrease swelling and inflammation. It's being explored as a cancer treatment in part because inflammation appears to play a role in cancer." http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/cancer/expert-answers/curcumin/FAQ-20057858

Buy one get one free at Walgreens. I believe it is also a spice. But this is in pill form. 450 -500 mg. It says "helps support joint function, mobility & comfort. Natural antioxidant support. Helps maintain heart & cardiovascular system health." Google it...I think it even said it was good for more things. And really... I was having problems with my knees on our walks with Willy. I could barely make it around the entire park. Now I don't even have to sit down at every or any of the benches at the park! And I actually took him there twice today.

Yes...that is what I read too. I don't know what else to credit for my ability to walk so much now. Before I was cheating & not even going the entire distance. Now I do that & more.
