Any chance of other European tour dates, I wonder? Or will it just be these two for Europe?
No, undoubtedly more to be added. Besides the fact that it wouldn't make sense at all to come over for 2 random gigs, they are more or less stating that in the press release. I assume he's going to 'make up' to Denmark somewhere in the near future...

Regarding Paul's show, has he ever played Austria before? I can't remember that.
Yes, he has played in Vienna before: twice in 1993 and once in 2003 (my first time seeing him).
Also with Wings in 1976. This is Paul's first Austrian gig in a stadium, with all four previous gigs having taken place at the "Stadthalle" indoor arena (which holds around 13000-15000). I wonder if he's going to sell out Ernst Happel Stadium, which would be 50000+.
Can't imagine he would have a problem selling it out. People will come from all over the region for that show.
That wasn't the case with the European 10,000-15,000 capacity arenas he was playing in the previous years...
If he plays arenas and does a show in Vienna, Milan, Munich, and Zurich, then no. I agree with you. But I suspect with these huge stadiums, McCartney will not be doing a another show within 500 miles of Vienna. Or maybe he will.

He will - Warsaw is less than 500 miles from Vienna

Thanks for your reply. It'd be fantastic - guess we'll all just have to wait (anxiously) to see what other dates appear! If not, Austria it is, as it's less than 1,000 km away, at least.

Well, you all have it figured out better than me! Sitting here in my office in Santa Fe, New Mexico, I really cannot concern myself with whether Paul McCartney concerts in Vienna or Warsaw sell out. I am sure it will all be fine!

The more often you say that...

Well, I am more concerned with the enjoyable aspects of Paul touring, ie where he will play, what songs, etc. than debating the minutae of those things. Who can really tell at this point which shows will sell out or not? Does it really matter? Can I or you or anyone actually do anything about it? No. So, I am happy Paul is playing Warsaw and Vienna! And also Tennessee and Brazil!

I wonder how many poor aussies are going to misread 'Austria' as Australia.
I spat my coffee all over the keyboard! .. then I wanted to have a little cry.

Vienna, Australia!!!
-
It does happen - I recently received a package from the UK stamped "Missent to Australia" . Considering someone bothered to make a specific rubber stamp for this, it probably happens rather frequently

This is great news! Sir Paul: "Vienna waits for you"
I LOVE THAT SONG!!! Billy Joel's original version,... also there is This!
Thanks! The link I have posted (
) is a performance by the duet that I am part of. I play keyboards and Meli Mizrahi sings. We also do "Oh! Darling", "I've Got My Mind Set On You" among other Beatles related songs. Regarding Paul's show, has he ever played Austria before? I can't remember that.Yes, he has played in Vienna before: twice in 1993 and once in 2003 (my first time seeing him).
So he basically comes to Vienna every 10 years.
