Well?

This is crazy! Now the video of the Russian guy is back and I watched it - amazing!

When you create a website, particularly an interactive one like this board, it's standard procedure to give it some testing -- done by people not involved in creating it -- to get a sense of what works, what doesn't, where the bugs are, etc. I know because at my office we're going through precisely this process with a site we're redesigning now. It sure feels like either the folks managing this site either didn't bother or didn't listen to the feedback they got. I can't imagine a serious user-testing program would have let these new boards through without some serious adjustments.

I agree! But nobody from Admin has answered our questions either here or via email. We are the blind leading the blind, stumbling around this board!
-
This is my first post on the new forum, a lot of the threads are gone! I have to get the feel of the new forum in order for me to give a accurate opinion. How are all of my fellow Beatles fanatics doing? I hope all is well with all of you.

WE are the beta testers. And we have no options. We don't even know if they are taking note of the complaints.

Andy, I can't find your thread "Hoe They Do It". Maybe I have the title wrong so it didn't show in the search. BUT... listen to this!
It was under Talk More Talk on the 2nd page when I selected one month. Here:
http://maccaboard.paulmccartney.com/forum/thread/25766
Plus, the link you posted is once again not clickable. You have to use Safari or Google Chrome to copy and paste. Weird! Now the video itself is there! ETA: And now it’s gone! This is totally ridiculous!
totally ridiculous
I found a "link" button that is there when you are posting. I put in the youtube link & now it's clickable. But OMG...how many steps are there. And now the video shows up! But watch...it will disappear. Again...blind leading the blind.

The threads are not gone. You have to select 1 day, 1 week, 2 weeks or 1 month and then decide if you want to see the Oldest or Newest first. If you leave it at ANY, the threads get buried on page 25 or something! Since you haven’t been on the board in close to 2 weeks, that’s probably what you should select in order to see the threads that have been posted on since then. Or use the spyglass at top right to search for a thread.

Guess I'm leaving. Had fun before this last "update" can't even figure how to reach out to admin or i'm being ignored. I'll attempt to check back later. Used to be rasrick.

If I were you I'd start a new thread in the paulmccartney.com section. The admin should be able to help you. With all these changes that don't even work...it would be nice for you to at least be who you used to be.

Thank you so much - I was looking at the much later pages more closely. Never expected it to be on page 2!

Apparently so. That's NOT how it's supposed to work!!!!

I like how there's no way to know if there are any new posts. Clicking on the topic and then scrolling down to the bottom of the page and then clicking the last page and then scrolling down to the bottom of the page only to find that there are no new posts is good exercise. My mouse needs the workout. If the time stamps were accurate, that might help. But when they say the last post was 30 minutes ago but was actually 4 days ago, that might go in the inaccurate category.

When I get to the topic I'm looking for, I hit the "sort" button again..for newest. The 1st original post will come up (WHY?) but then the newest posts will be there. This is all just crazy.

To be honest with you, I don't like the new set up! The old set up was better.

Got a new look to it. Bubbly and poppish.

Yeah, but it’s a b*tch to navigate and several things aren’t working! 🤬

That doesn't always work for me. I was just looking at Not Such a Bad Boy, and even after I hit "newest first," it was displaying posts from 3-4 days ago above a post created within the past 24 hours. This thing is so buggy they should call Orkin.

LOL! Orkin...
When you select 1 day, 7 days or 2 weeks you'll get some different results. I don't know why that can't be fixed.

You have to select both the 1, 2, etc days feature and Newest to narrow it down. I’d call Terminix!

I did that, and it's a plausible workaround, but threads STILL don't display in order with those with the newest posts first. The thing doesn't work. They didn't get the bugs out before it went live. Like I said before, I have some experience helping oversee the creation of websites and I know this stuff is complex and glitches inevitably happen. But you test and fix them before tormenting the public. This is not rocket science.
