I have like four of those computer bags still, my favorite Macca swag out of all the stuff I have!!! I actually use those!!
you should see the new one's they passed out on Sat Night! Black Cool Canvas back packs! to the Vip's one of the songs Paul was Playing in sound check was Monkberry moon delite! I just sang right along with Paul, then and On Here today! I was doing harmony with Paul on that one!
Are you sure it was Monkberry Moon Delight? I'm a bit doubtful about that, maybe it was something else that sounded like Monkberry thru the wall...?
I find it very hard to believe as well. Its not impossible just not likely. I will say with almost 100% certainty it was a recordingm. I have hever heard of soundcheck running over into the time concert was actually supposed to start. Paul wouldnwouldnot have been on stage when they open the doors for regular concert goers.
They may have been playing it through some speakers while the soundcheckers were eating. We had Paul music piped in during Chicago's dinner.
let me say this again. so their is no mistake! Paul, was Playing Live in "SOUNDCHECK"! their was over 150 people in their watching him, Play Monkberry moon delite! they clapped after every song he played!!! And I Saw It Live! and Yes, Paul arrived at 5:30 to the Loading Dock behind the stage entrance. he Played Until, 8:12 in the evening! the WHOLE AUDIANCE Stood Up and Applauded!! then at 8:15 the front Door of the Sprint Center, started letting Fans in the Door! the Line was 5 blocks long! and further down the street, to hard to see where the line ended! the People in line said the doors are suppose to Open at 5:30, whats the deal, they said! I told them hey, he just arrived at 5:30, so we will all just have to sit and wait for him to finish Sound check. most of these Fans were only expecting to Hear, all Beatle songs. they never even knew about "NEW" or any other, CD's Paul had compiled! they were Uniformed, fans! the fans around me said, "What is he Playing" what is that song? I told them, it is His "NEW" CD! they were just amazed! didn't even realize that the Tour name "OUT THERE" came from the song, "Everybody Out There". I did not mind answering their questions, but it did GET OLD! the fans were pretty, Nice, cept the fans, next to me, kept going in and out, to get Beer and a Smoke. while spilling their Beer all over my Dress and Hair. oh well! but I got to say, WHAT KIND EVENT STAFF AND SECURITY WERE EXTREMELY CARING AND HELPFUL TO ME, AND KIND AS WELL!

and I was Appreciative, Grateful, and Thankful I got to see, the Most Inspiring Artist the WORLD has to Offer!!! No One Knows, how many GadZillion Hours Paul Puts into his SHows! but the best of ALL, his energy sends the Audience Kind and Peaceful, Energy he Delivers, to give us 4 hours of Peace kindness, and, to take away our worry;s and cares for 4 hours, was More than I have words to say! Paul's Spiritual Energy is like this HUGE VORTEX, of White Healing Light, that comes from Angels Up Above! to heal us all from our worry's and fears, and his beauty Just brings me to Tears, of Joy and Happiness! But then Paul's Beauty always makes me cry! I it is hard to put into words how Humanitarians Serving one another, is soo fulfilling, you want that ENERGY TO LAST 4 EVER. to see Paul LIVE, is like coming home again. where, you only get that feeling of warmth and Love of Acceptance, as he welcomes you. with loving Kindness I send back to Paul. I thought I could only get Spiritual Healing and warmth from HEAVEN! when your in the Middle of your Crisis(troubles) you Must APPRECIATE THE DAY! BE THANKFUL, GRATEFUL AND BLESSED, TO YOU ALL! LOVE VICKI

dear oobu24 yes in the VIP Lounge, they had Paul's music Playing in the sound system in their.

I dont doubt that the show may have started late but I find it very hard to believe that Paul did a 3 hour soundcheck, I'm sorry. And I think if he did Monkberry live, it would be big news and one of the 150 people who were soundcheck VIPs would have reported on that by now? :

Sadly it's not as good as it used to be. Soundchecks are way too large now and are much shorter. In the 90's it was almost 90 minutes and in the late 2000's (2009) and some time after it around 20-24 songs. Attendance in late 2000's was anywhere from 15-40. Now there are almost 200 nightly and only13 songs. The veggie dinners generally suck but every once in awhile you get a good one. Still fun but has definitely lost some of the luster
Got a question for you and others who have attended sound checks. Do you want to hear songs that you know and probably in the concert set list or would you rather hear more obscure songs?

In Lincoln, Shelly told us the songs that would be played in soundcheck would not be in the regular show. However, they did Lady Madonna in both. Personally, I'd rather hear songs that aren't going to be in the show . . .rare or otherwise

I agree. I'd rather hear different songs. Shelley also told us that you never know what will be played...that the songs are always different. : Maybe 2-3 are different otherwise the setlist is usually rhe same.

I'm sure we would all like to hear a few different songs in sound check. But, I'm thinking that Paul always does Lady Madonna because it is a pretty good warm-up for him on the piano. Also, I'm sure that specific songs are played to test out each guitar he will be using in the show. After all, it is a rehearsal, sort of, right??

Actually I don't think he always does Lady Madonna . . .seems like there was another setlist from last week that he did something else on that piano. However, you are correct. . .soundcheckers are told that he will do songs that will use each instrument he'll use in the show . . . Which brings me to something else I thought about . . .it would be really cool if one of the swag items was a t-shirt that had something about being at soundcheck (Paul does call the group "soundcheckers"!!) Personally a shirt would have been more useful to me than a backpack (even tho the backpack is a very good one and I'll keep mine thanks!). Also, the pick thing . . .we all paid the same cost(s) to be in there . . .why only picks at the first and last shows? I still had a fab time at soundcheck . . .don't regret spending the $$ even a tiny bit

Pretty sure that he has done Lady Madonna at every soundcheck I've been to. It's always been the final song (and it's not the whole song, either). But yes, right now that is the only one he's been doing during SC that is also part of the main show. Everything else rotates around a basic set list of songs which changes slightly from city to city. Some of those songs have been his SC staples for years--I remember sitting outside an outdoor stadium in 1993 and listening happily to C Moon and Matchbox. I personally like hearing songs that don't get played during the main show. Just as a contrast, Springsteen uses his soundchecks to rehearse songs that he might toss into that night's set. I have often heard the same song done 3 or 4 times in a row while listening to some of his SCs.

don't know, but picks were given out at Fargo which was a show in the middle.
-
Oh - oops - must have read an incomplete soundcheck setlist somewhere then. Still don't get the pick thing . . .I'd be if I ever get to do another soundcheck . . .so it was likely my only chance to get one . . .life goes on!
-
I'd still like to see that list from KC. There must be an entire soundcheck setlist somewhere.
-
What would be awesome is if they let you bring your instrument to the sound check and at the end, you are allowed to play along with the band on stage. I'd love to break out my clarinet! I know, where would you store them during the show, you wouldn't really be able to hear, etc. But the thought of playing along with Paul live!

While you have to expect a bunch of hits, it would be extra special if he threw a couple rare songs in there also. I believe someone requested "Ram On" at a sound check years ago and it eventually made it in the set list. I think it would be a real cool idea especially for the sound check prices if he let the people vote for one song and he would play it if at all possible.

Same here because I am not believing Paul did Monkberry Moon Delight. I do want my guitar pick. For the money I paid, it is the least they could do! Don't they know we communicate with each other?
-
"Monkberry..." isn't so far-fetched: He did "Big Barn Bed" in soundcheck last year, after all.
-
But you'd think more people would be reporting it.
-
True.

Everything else was the same so I don't get why there were no picks . . .Ob-la di, Ob-la da I guess!
