I go to most concerts, for many artists, solo and I find Paul's audience my favorite. It's amazing that from the youngest people all the way up to the original BeaTles fans, I have really met so many wonderful people over the years. I have many touching and unforgettable stories of those I've met over the years...
Wow, you seem to have had quite a lot of fun over the years. Lucky you!
Thanks for letting me know! Now I have another thing to say when the next friend/relative tries to convince me that I'm cuckoo bananas for going solo to this, lol. Am I supposed to wait till I find the right person to accompany me? That could take years in my case.
I still don't get why people assume that, if you enjoy doing some things by yourself, you're a crackpot. It's a great way of getting to know new people, isn't it?
Anyway, I hope to also be able to have some one-of-a-kind experiences in Italy and specifically at the concert!
I went to a rock show (not McCartney) when I was a teenager by myself, could not get anybody to go with me. I wound up sitting next two two young ladies my age and I just said hi when I sat down. They were very nice and one of the girls started talking to me before the show started and we hit it off. After the show, the three of us went to a bar and had a few drinks together to talk about the concert. It just shows you you never know what can happen -lol.
I thought you were going to end the story with, "And that girl is now my wife!"
lol - nope did not meet her until a decade later.

You are not bananas for going solo!! You can't spend your life waiting for people to do the things you want to do. Go do them, then you will meet people who are there because they like the same thing! New friends!! Italy is such a great country, great Food, things to see. I've been advised by several people/tour guide, to keep my money in a money belt. Thats good advice when travelling. Have fun!
Yes, I have had a lot of fun over the years... Met lots of great people as well, some now best friends. Â I decided that I'm not going to miss out on the things I want to do, because I don't have someone to do it with! I have a couple of different friends who meet me for concerts, but I mainly go by myself. Â I also like art more than music even, so I've gone to museums all over the world mostly by myself, I do have a friend of mine and who loves Art and we have met up for museum trips. It is so much fun!

I totally agree! I go to Beatles tribute band concerts alone sometimes and went on the Flower Power cruise alone in 2018 and am going alone again in 2020! Met lots of friends and had a blast! I used to do Abbey Road On the River Beatles festival alone for years until I found a perfect roommate. We are skipping AROTR in 2020 and taking a trip to Liverpool and London for Beatleweek!

I just heard about the Flower Power cruise. It sounds really great, will look into that for next year. NancyR said to check in April. When you go by yourself on the cruise, do you have to pay double for the cabin? I might do that... Â going to look up BeaTleweek in Liverpool, that's an Idea, thanks!

Not double. With a roomie, you would each pay $1899. I got $150 off by getting in on the presale, so was $3374 including port taxes and gratuities which are $325. Then the travel insurance was $281. (it's based on cost of your cabin) They also give us $100 onboard credit (per cabin) which I use toward the wi-fi. You pay it in 4 installments. The last one was due yesterday. Oh, and you get a free Flower Power t-shirt (different every year)
P.S. The 2020 Packages went on sale in early Dec.

Sadly it's not as good as it used to be. Soundchecks are way too large now and are much shorter. In the 90's it was almost 90 minutes and in the late 2000's (2009) and some time after it around 20-24 songs. Attendance in late 2000's was anywhere from 15-40. Now there are almost 200 nightly and only13 songs. The veggie dinners generally suck but every once in awhile you get a good one. Still fun but has definitely lost some of the luster
I agree Bobby.. plus prices went up!! but you and Phil got bank

Fam Asylum was great!
We did get Sound Check in early 2000s. Until MPL took it over, than no more Fan Asylum...

A company that does VIP packages for concerts. Like SLOTix. I think they are still around. They handled Paul's soundchecks for the first few years he offered them. I never did any of their packages for Paul, but I had friends who did.  I think the guy that started the company worked for Shelley Lazar before he went out on his own.
