Really appreciate the help, Train it is .......One small query, having used the subway only once last year. Where do i purcahse a "Metrocard" from and would I need one each for us? and as an estimate how much would you reccomend i put on it for a return journey to the stadium from grand central....apologies for the dumb questions, but We're from South Wales and our only transport as far as trains are concerned require buying an individual ticket that takes you one way and back, there is no swiping it in a booth and credit needed for it like the tubes in London!!!! sorry!!!!!
You can also take the "D" train which is express as well. Also, it is right by Rockerfeller Center so no walking if you are staying right there.

I don't think Paul ever kicked off a tour in New York before...and if I remember corrctly the Beatles never began one in the U.S. either. The anticipation will be "off the scale", Phil.

Didn't the Beatles' 1965 US tour start in NYC at Shea Stadium?

Yes, the U.S. leg began at Shea, however the '65 tour had dates in Europe prior to that.
-
DrivinFan I didn't know that. He loves playing in NY so let's hope fpr something special!
-
There's no doubt...this will be an amazing show!!
-
I can't stop thinking about the show!! I can't wait! I just want next week to come already! I can't even wait to board the plane to NYC haha This whole trip is going to be magical!
-
cpaige has it right...the subway is fairly easy to navigate, but be sure to read all service bulletins posted in the station, and make sure you have enough on the card ($4.50 uptown and back) for the entire trip...you do not want to be trying to get the fare after the show also, carry enough cash to purchase a metrocard, as there are occasional credit / debit outages

wow... this is kinda exciting... depending on what new songs Paul may or may not decide to pull out for this tour, we have the chance to see him play some stuff for the VERY FIRST TIME!!!

I guess we are all excited!! The anticipation is killing me. I expect to receive my tickets from Fed Express today and once I have them inhand will feel even more excited. Yes, JOE, the prospect of new songs is really exciting. I also think that being in New York for the opening of the new tour and playing at Yankee Stadium for the first time, is probably exciting for Paul, too! He seems to love New York and I have seen him on tv attending a Yankee Game, as well. There is always an extra excitement surrounding opening night of a new tour. Once a tour starts, there is not the element of surprise for the setlist but opening night...you never know!! If we get three or four new songs along with the typical warhorses, I will be happy. Now...good weather!

TM is dropping good 100 sections for both nights. Just picked up 106 for Sat.

I am so thrilled for the concert! I just am so pissed right now because of the whole Casey Anthony case! I know it's off topic but I just can't believe this is happening!
-
Does anyone know whether the 8PM time listed on Ticketmaster is doors or showtime? I would presume doors, but I need to be sure, as the answer decides whether I buy a ticket for Friday or for Saturday.
