I realized that I never did tell my full story. So I arrived at the GGP at 9 in the morning and I had my 3 day VIP wrist band. There is an exclusive VIP entrance but all of the staff (who were volunteers and didn't know what to do) told me to go to the GA entrance. After disobeying them, I found the VIP entrance and the guard there didn't know not to let people in until 11 and I was the first VIP there. He was confused and inadvertently let me in. So I was inside the venue before it was open and finished setting up...
Just sort of skimmed over your story, but I was the one who had a vendor pass! It was nice meeting you at the barrier, didn't realize you were a boardie! I agree that the crowd wasn't as energetic as some crowds I've been around, but this was still probably THE best gig of my life. Being right in front of Macca, with only a security guard and Paul's personal photographer obstructing my view occasionally. I've seen some great gigs, and I'll see some more great ones, but I don't know if any of them will ever top last week's 2.5 hours of bliss! For me, it was all about seeing Macca as close as possible, and I can't believe I was front and center for my first gig with him.
I have lots of pictures coming, sent a few to Jenna and about to send some to Livia.

And it was pretty funny when the security guard was dodging your lens.

I don't have a fancy camera. It's a small Sony with a pretty decent lens. Thanks for the compliments on the vid. And I have something to remember the show. Of course nothing compares to Livia's experience. But at my age, I can't expect that type of attention. I will be content with all the wonderful things that have happened to me...big and small. Outside Lands was pretty big for me...front row is pretty big for me.
I know what you mean. It makes me sad that Paul seems to only pull up the cute young girls. (No offense to McCartney (Harley Blues), but she was the exception to the rule)
Maybe that`s what you are seeing, but I think if you saw a list of people he`s pulled up onstage, you`d be surprised at how many of them did not fit that description.But, of course, how many 50+ fans actually want tattoos?

The McCartney show at Outside Lands in San Francisco was quite wonderful. Paul was in wonderful voice and seemed genuinely moved to be playing there. His anecdotes were very entertaining, and the music selection was great! My date and I ended up doing the "Wings Hands" every time time a Wings song was played. I only wish (I really really wish) that Paul would play the Rick, not the Hofner. Ah well. It was perfect otherwise.
