Saw on Amazon and Ebay that Mike McCartney has two family photo books (see covers below)... Maybe the second one is just a new edition, a reprint of the original with a new title.

If I remember correctly, 'Thank U Very Much' was the UK edition (its the one I have anyway) while 'THE MACS' was the US edition. The change of title was because 'Thank You Very Much' wasn't a hit single for the Scaffold in the US and it was thought that the title wouldn't mean anything to American readers.

Thanks, Kestrel! It's good to know this, I'm sure there would be people buying both books thinking they're different. Had a feeling though that they were the same book with an alternate title. Would be a great book to have, no matter which version!
One of Linda's cookbooks (with an international theme, can't think of the name off the top of my head) was republished with an alternate cover and title as well, after she passed away, but both versions of the cookbook were essentially the same.

I have the original U.S. book, The Macs. Kestrel’s info is correct. Same book, different title for U.K.

Thanks, Nancy! Am going to order a copy of one of the versions today.
Saw this photo and wondered what Paul might be holding in his hand? Looks like a little megaphone or toy trumpet. Also, if you look closely you can see the shadow of his father at the bottom of the photo, who probably took the picture

Its a great book and very funny. If I remember correctly (its a long time ago now), Paul wasn't very happy with it at the time although he probably feels differently about it now.

I know why Paul was upset, but not sure how to phrase it here. Umm...he was mad because Mike revealed that because their mum was a midwife, she had them both circumcised! Little TMI, according to Paul, I guess!

Aww, poor Paulie! Nothing to be embarrassed about, could be alot worse... Just googled and found out that it takes an entire day for the Hutu people of Burundi to complete a circumcision ritual.. the boys are between 13-17 years old, and it's done without anesthetic. The pain can last 4-8 months. And after all that, they're expected to go out and kill a lion with a spear! Compared to that, a newborn baby boy in Liverpool doesn't have much to worry about

A rare black and white press photograph of Paul McCartney with his father Jim, taken at EMI’s Abbey road Studios, London during the ‘Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds’ recording sessions. The photograph was taken by TIME/LIFE magazine photographer Henry Grossman between March 1-3, 1967.

LadyLeslie, thank you for posting up those photos of Paul and his father. First time I've ever seen them.
What I find amazing is that the Jim McCartney in those photos was still only 64 years old, 11 years younger than Paul is now?

You're welcome, Kestrel!
Yes it is amazing that this father was only 64 in the photo, but when Paul was 64 he looked about 15-20 years younger. It's probably due to the fact that we're more aware now of eating healthy and exercising, and how that affects us as we age. Paul's father must have been a wonderful person, with a great sense of humor, and was still handsome and distinguished (if that's the right word! lol) in later life. Paul always made sure he was taken care of, I remember reading he bought him a house, and because his father enjoyed horse racing, he even bought him a horse that competed in races

Paul still owns that house and stays there when he’s in Liverpool.

Paul still owns that house and stays there when he’s in Liverpool. It is across the Mersey River on the Wirral in Heswall, Cheshire. It’s called “Rembrandt.” I saw it in 2016 on a coach tour. Would post a pic, but Photobucket is not cooperating right now.
Thanks, Nancy! It's great you were able to see the house while on tour. Would love to see a photo!

April 1969 - Linda's first Easter with Paul's family.
Heather is second girl from left, holding doll. Don't think that's Paul's father at left, is probably an Uncle, and looks like his Aunt Millie at far right.

Paul, Linda and family, with Paul's father Jim

No, definitely not his dad in the 1969 pic. Never saw either of those before - thanks for posting!

I wonder if that photo was taken on the 7th July 1972,the occasion of Jim's 70th birthday? Wings were in the south of France a couple of days later for the start of their European tour but they could easily have flown there. I think they were a few dates in before they started to use the converted double decker bus.

It very well could have been Jim's 70th birthday. Have to admire Linda for traveling on the bus with her three children (one of them still a baby!) and husband trying to do her best as a musician. I'm sure it meant a great deal to Paul, and to their family, for them all to be together on their travels!
