OH, and I want to thank this board because without you guys, especially Triplets, I wouldn't have been able to have this good time I had. You guys guided me in getting tickets and being a member of this website helped me get that special presale without making me late for work and fired (My boss was so cracking down on that and wouldn't have understood since it wouldn't have been the first time he heard concert tickets as an excuse) thank you everybody

So I guess you guys would say...and a good time was had by all! Great to hear!

If anyone got the time when Paul grabbed the guitar with the Red Wings sticker to when he began Yesterday on video or happens upon a video, would you please let me know? I'm on the lookout as well.

a friend of mine did. He's not on these boards and I'll ask and see if he can post it online somewhere

No didn't read out loud. He had seen/read it before he even went into Eight Days a Week and nodded to me. I held it up again when he brought the guitar out so I wanted to see if the moment was on video somewhere.

Thanks oobu. This video starts a little after me holding up the sign but thank you for posting though!

Was I the only one not impressed with the merchandise?
-
Had a fun time just getting there. Had only one thing in my bag. a water bottle. It wasn't allowed and I wasn't that upset to lose it. the guard asked about my medicine bag. I told him he could look but he seemed scared of it and asked me what it was. I told him, "New Age hippie sh**" He laughed and said since it didn't set off the alarms, it was okay. While in the restroom, there was an older woman serving as an attendant who kept talking and laughing with the ladies. She said to me, "ooh, girl, why'd Paul single you out?" "What?" (I hadn't even seen Paul yet. This was preshow and how would he even know anything about where I am right now anyway? I doubt I was on his mind in any form. "He made kissy noises on his hand and touched the screen at you. He gonna pick you out in that crowd, you know" What? Don't believe her. I think she only said that because she liked my wild shirt I had on. It was a fun random strange encounter though Oh, and the set list? Who else was impressed?

I've got to write my detailed review but that won't be until late tonight. Did anyone catch the Band going into Carry That Weight too soon but recovered quickly into the next line of Golden Slumbers? That's when you know this is 100 percent live; which is great!

I was also. i really wanted to surprise m dad with a Paul McCartney hat for Christmas. He lives in the UP, much too far to come for the show. Will have to pay shipping and order it from the web site. Was also sad to hear Paul sing Maybe I'm Amazed. I've heard folks here on the forum say he can't handle singing that anymore, and I have to agree. He faltered a bit at one point, but recovered. Overall it was a fantastic show. Was thrilled to hear No More Lonely Nights in the opening photo montage music. Love that song.

The tickets were GREAT! I was 5 rows off the main floor past what would be first row on the main floor (closer than row one on the main floor) ..... even with the stage .... I could see Paul and the band enter before the stage and leave the stage for his final waves .... Joe Louis people were really good about getting a wheel chair and getting the person that I was with to the seats and returning after the show (they said they could get us out earlier and we said no way .... we are here to the end ....even if we are the last ones out) ..... I enjoyed the show like crazy and felt myself singing along without thinking about it ..... had a big smile inside and out ...... I did not read a set list ahead of time because I wanted to be surprised and I always like when he plays a song that I have not heard live (as in me being part of it and not a television or film version)... I relaxed there and had an Awesome time taking it all in ..... The people around were fun to casually chat as if we all knew each other .... I was good with his voice .... song choices .... the sound ..... maybe it was just me .... but I thought it was Awesome and well worth being there The row that was in front of us was roped off as in not to be used at all .... so no one blocking our view ...... and a place to put crutches and a coat .... An experience that was so cool and one to remember for a long time

I noticed it but thought it was intentional.

I also thought, for one of the encores, Paul kept moving his mouth like he really needed a drink of water that time. I also liked how the guitar wrangler and him had that comic standoff about him going back on stage to finish the show. that was cute.

WOW ! Of all the shows I've seen, this has to be my favorite one I thought his voice was fine, not too many problems. I noticed the Golden Slumbers slip up ! I was in section 3 & I had a problem with that video boom getting in my way a lot of the time, seemed everytime I was ready to take a pic - there was the boom ! He held up the Red Wing guitar for quite a bit, I was surprised he didn't say anything about it. !Sound check was great ! except, every VIP I have been at,we have always been able to buy our merchandise before the arena opens. First dibs so to speak. Not this time, They made us stay in the room we were in till the doors opened, then we had to fight with the crowds to even try & see the merchandise. & nothing special, unless another booth had more merchandise. I doubt it. First time I haven't seen a special shirt for the city. I didn't see a Detroit shirt at all. Just the ones listing all the cities. Everyone I've talked too & posts I've seen elsewhere, say that Paul seemed more interactive with the crowd this time. Yes he did the same old stories, but very friendly with the fans from all areas of the arena. And It was great to finally meet some members of the Macca board !!

He drinks during the sound check. He drank 2 bottles....not water tho, it was yellow, Gatorade ?

What a totally awesome show!! Hard to describe exactly, you just had to be there! All the songs were great, Paul's voice was great, the band was great. I loved every second. Hope he doesn't wait 4 years to come back again. Got to meet a few Maccaboard peeps! A lot of the food at the pre-show reception wasn't really my taste (too spicy or too bland. Fruit and vegetables great, sponge cake/fruit desert great, spring rolls awesome!) but it was so fun to meet people and relax. I think Paul and the band loved the Detroit audience.
