After many decades of following my idol and seeing him in concert I was excited at the news he was doing Freshen up Tour back in Liverpool again, over the years being a member on PMc I never had much of a problem getting pre sale tickets but this time its been an absolute disaster...I registered for pre sale on Ticketmaster to receive a code to enter pre sale...nothing came through though if you went on their website anyone with AMEX could buy them as I tried and succeeded until I got to check out where unfortunately being a mere mortal with visa debit couldn't purchase how discriminatory is that!...then the Liverpool Echo Arena do a pre sale this morning from 10am...I entered the queue on line and moved slowly through to the front after 3 hours!..even though the website said if they sell out before you reach the front they will inform you..wrong!!...so now at the front I am being redirected to what I thought was the buying page...wrong!!..the page said no tickets available for this performance...disgraceful.
I will forever be a fan but the last few days have drained me of any enthusiasm to enter the general sale.

What a shame! I hope someone in authority sees posts like this.

The internet has a lot to answer for. It would be better to go back to the old days of postal applications or better still, just queue outside the venue for tickets.

Hi, I'm brand new to the board and I'm really sorry to be starting on a downer, but I'm very frustrated about trying to get concert tickets to see Paul and I'm wondering what other people think? I've been a fan all my life of the Beatles and Paul in particular since I can remember beginning to listen to music. Have never managed to get it together to go to one of his gigs up until now for a variety of reasons, but I thought I would go for it this year with the #FreshenUpTour.
I've registered for the presales UK and Denmark and got nothing from it except ridiculously priced tickets £ 250+. So for my wife and I to go it would cost £500 plus the cost of getting to the concert (travel and accommodation etc). In my view this puts it beyond the reach of ordinary working people which is really sad. Paul's music should be able to be enjoyed by everyone. Fair enough if you have the money and want to splash out on VIP priced tickets good luck to you, but what about the rest of us? Very saddended by it all
Love and Peace,
Gerry D

I know more people who got tickets in the various pre-sales for the UK shows than the General Sale, so there were plenty of tickets available and not all at skyhigh prices either.
At the end of the day it's the luck of the draw but certainly pre-sales work as far as i'm concerned - I've seen Mccartney three times in the UK so far (with a four show in December) and have never had any issues getting tickets for any of the shows.
Also, I've never paid more than £80 for a McCartney show so these tickets certainly aren't "beyond the reach of ordinary working people".
