I posted on here a couple of days ago to ask about the secret gig seeing as I live in Liverpool and missed out on the Arena tickets and have never seen Paul play live.
I queued up outside the cavern from 5.30am and then at around 8.30am there were rumours that the tickets were being distrubuted at the Arena so myself and 5 others ran for a taxi and got over to the Arena and made it within the first 50 people.
We must have queued in total over the course of the day for at least 6 or 7 hours but it was completely worth it. Once we got our wrist bands and tickets we headed right back to the Cavern and queued at the front and made it to the front of the stage inside the gig.
I really enjoyed the new songs - "Who Cares" was probably my favourite out of them, it was really catchy and would be great as a single. His story about ''Confidante'' was interesting in terms of him alluding to the fact that he kind of fell out of love with playing his guitar for a while - and ''Fuh You'' was good cheeky fun. I loved the fact that he included quite a few Wings numbers - ''Hi Hi Hi" was brilliant in such a small setting with everyone roaring along. It was totally mind-blowing to be that close to him and see him look in my eyes while I was grinning like mad - something I'll never forget. It's been a crazy few days and I've met some really cool people while I've been queuing at LIPA/The Cavern/The Echo.
I still can't beleive it...and that's my hand second from the left pointing up!!

There are some “very strange” stories about how some people got the their place for the tickets queue. Times don’t match. For me it’s pretty obvious how it worked. And the main proof is nobody said a word, anywhere, before 9am.
Historic day anyway! And I'm really happy for the ones that got their chance to be part of it in a fair way.
Looking forward to the December show
Hey Not sure if that was directed towards my post or not, but just to say - it was a very long and surreal day and my times are estimates - but I know for sure that I was definitely at the Echo arena by about 9am because I remember we had to wait until 10 for the ticket and I distinctly remember thinking ''another hour''. I wasn't first in the queue at the Echo - there were at least 30 people there already Have a good time in December!
Hi Wanderlust. We must have been near you in the q at the Echo! Wasn't it amazing. When you think that tickets for huge stadiums are stupidly exepense and we got this for FREE

I was watching on the news this morning, interviews with the lucky fans who attended the gig and what I found so refreshing was that people of all ages got in to see him. Not like the Abbey Road show where it was mainly youngsters with internet access.....and the celebs. It all goes back to the point I was making the other day, that it is so much fairer to only be able to obtain tickets from a box office in person and limit one ticket to each person. If the touts want their tickets then at least make them queue for them along with everyone else.
Very cool that just normal every day people got to seem him. It must have been amazing seeing him in a small venue.
Especially at the legendary Cavern Club! Congrats to all who got tickets! I loved reading about your experiences here. SO COOL!
