I did the above very quickly just out of frustration but I think many of you get the picture. This "Abbey Road" setlist I predict will be pretty much the basic setlist (with a few more of the signature songs) for the new tour. For the 1st or 2nd timers it will be great but as I have said over the last 8 years or so, not an exciting setlist in the least for a veteran Paul concert attendee like me.
Getting back from my coffee run, here are a few more "dream setlist" songs I would love to hear that he has never or very rarely done before:
Penny Lane (only one tour from my recollection and for the Beatles' fans)
Martha My Dear (for the Beatles' fans)
Love In Song or Magneto & Titanium (from Venus and Mars and for the Wings' fans)
Single Pigeon or One More Kiss (from Red Rose Speedway)
As I said, I could go on and on with good to great songs that Paul should do. And with his top notch band, many of these songs are relatively easy to do with a little bit of rehearsal time. Such a shame that he doesn't think as highly of his Solo career as many of us do.

He wasn't promoting the 50th anniversary issue of Sgt. Pepper's on last year's tour, was he? (Let alone his own Flowers in the dirt reissue)
I doubt there's some agenda hidden in the setlist; Paul just plays what he wants and what he thinks people want to hear.
BTW, One after 909 was recorded at Abbey Road as well, in 1963 (the version on the "Anthology" album).

I think we will see a different setlist for the actual tour. These are just secret warm up shows. He will play different songs for sure come the fall. I doubt he’ll keep Hard Days Night as the opener and other songs will change. Honestly.

I would only add "Tomorrow"
Tomorrow is a good one H-Girl from Wildlife. Or he could do "The Mess" from the same "Wildlife" era.
I also missed the "Driving Rain" era as well where he could do:
About You or Your Way (both very good songs from Driving Rain).
My point is that he has so many hidden gems from all of his various albums after the Beatles. If he is going to showcase his Post Beatles' Catalog, why wouldn't he do it in these "Small Venue" gigs. Then those that went particularly well could be moved onto his regular Tour setlist to truly give his tour a "freshen up". Unfortunately Paul is stuck on doing the "totally known" Beatle songs that get the obvious big ovations. The problem is that many of his "core" fans are getting so tired of the same songs at every show. At the same time, it would be these "surprise" songs that casual and harder core fans would actually listen to on the Internet and possibly "buy". The problem seems to be that Paul loves traveling all over the world being the "guardian" of the Beatles legacy rather than spending more time enriching the legacy of his own very underrated Post Beatles Catalog.

I saw a clip of him this morning (Central Time) on The Today Show. He was taking a stroll across the famous Zebra crosswalk with onlookers enjoying it with him. I have long thought that they should change the acronym GMT to ART, for A.bbey R.oad T.ime, as they are the same time zone.

Excellent post and like that you give two songs from some of the albums. I would love to hear "Dear Boy" from RAM and "I Can Bet" from "New". I loved that you included one of my all time favorites that he should have made an official version and that is "On The Wings Of A Nightengale". I also am a big fan of "Dance Til We're High" from EA and would love to hear that live also. What is really disappointing is that these "secret" shows are the type that he has much more liberty to go out and play different songs because it is free and casual show - oh well.

Katie...thank you for posting your report, I am so happy for you that you got to be at this show!
As to the setlist, I would venture to guess that seeing Paul and the band in such an intimate, special setting (have you ever been inside Studio 2?) even those here who are disappointed with it on paper would not be disappointed in person. A show like this is nothing like seeing Paul in an arena or stadium with thousands of other people.

More great suggestions Yankeefan and I thought you would like my post. As I said, my suggestions (even the Beatle ones) just came off the top of my head. Songs that have never been played before, very rare or over just one tour. In short, songs that he hasn't played too death. I have to disagree with a couple of the posts that said that Paul's new tour won't be anything like this Abbey Road show. I think it will be pretty much the same albeit maybe 4 new songs off the "Egypt Station sessions. And Yes, I would be excited about seeing Paul so up close and seeing the Abbey Road Studio but I would still be plenty dissapointed with the Setlist. As I said, we have heard Paul and Band do these songs countless times before.
Dear Boy is another great one from Ram. I saw a Youtube clip of a young doing Dear Boy just on the piano and it sounded great. Wouldn't it be great to see Paul do the song without all the extra Studio tricks.
"I Can Bet" is another choice off the "New" Album. "Alligator" would be another one and Paul and Band have done it during rehearsals and during their "warmups" before the actual shows.
Thanks for giving the correct title for "Nightingale". I always get that wrong.
Such a shame that Paul doesn't see the error in his ways for his own legacy if nothing else. Back in 2002 and 2005 I thought Paul was the greatest "live" act ever (as good or better than Springsteen) but unfortunately he hasn't worked on keeping his live shows really "fresh" over the last 7-8 years in my opinion.

The set list for the tour will be virtually identical to Abbey Road secret show set, just a bit longer with the usual additional tunes. There won't be a new opener either sadly - pretty much guaranteed. It will be HDN again for the next year at least. The main issue really is just not wanting to put in the rehearsal time needed for a truly adventurous "fresh" setlist which could have been amazing.

I think you’re right.
And BJ, Paul could never pull off Dear Boy. Parts of the song are WAY too high for him to sing now.
