I loved it, too! It really made me want to see another live show of his. The most moving moment that has stuck with me was when Paul asked the two girls who had been bullied onto the stage for "Who Cares". That's a song of his new album that didn't click with me originally but now I always have to think of this moment when I hear it and feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
I also liked that his walking through the crowd for "Blackbird" was a bit awkward and chuckled at his comment that it it took longer than they thought it would.

that ''moment'' was staged though.

The moment with the two girls certainly wasn't staged. I was at the show (you can see me in Paul's Instagram photo - I was the one at the bottom, third from left. I also have some screen time in the video for Come On To Me, as the song goes into the instrumental break!) Those girls were waiting in line, just like the rest of us. I saw them, loved their shirts, and asked if I could take a photo of them. The said sure! Here's the result:
Oh, and a woman I'm friends with said that Alvita is a good friend of hers. So, no they were not "planted" at the show. They are just two girls who love Paul just like the rest of us do!
BTW, here's me from the video:

It was my understanding that they do not live within 250 miles of NYC, so how were they even there?
-
well they should tell their friends to stop spreading rumors. I'm sorry but someone very close to them said it was staged.... and there are videos of them talking with the camera crew before the show. Anyway, none of my business - good for them

From friends who did not get in, at some point a man in a suit came to the back of the crowd and handed out wristbands...in the neighborhood of 25-40. So quite a few extras got in. I have no idea if that has anything to do with how the girls got in just that it happened. By the time my friend realized wristbands were being given, she was too late. I'm sure that when they realized there were extra wristbands that they did not waste time checking everyone's ID.
obviously that many could be an errant perception but extras were passed out. Maybe someone who got in that way could provide a more accurate number

Arent those 2 young ladies members of this board? Perhaps they can shed some light on this. I see them at every single show always in the first 10 rows if not closer. Are they affiliated with the band in anyway? I would think Pauls crew would have to know them by now, as they are always together, and jumping around at the shows. Also, the lady in the pic with the glasses was brought onstage by him once before, and he signed her back. Pretty sure it was her.

Yes, the black woman with the glasses is Alvita. She was a boardie here and yes, was brought onstage once before and he signed her upper back, which she had tattooed. Not affiliated with the band, just uber fans.

For all of you GCT gig people - I read that before the show started, Paul secretly made his way into the main terminal to get a feel of the crowd. He saw lots of people on their cell phones and decided to take out his phone to snap some photos. And the best part...he wasn't even noticed once!

I know this is probably an unpopular opinion: but I find it unfair that they they have both been brought onstage before at other Paul gigs, and got brought up AGAIN at Grand Central Station.
Other people should be given a chance to meet Paul too!

As I commented elsewhere, the horns added greatly to the already intense excitement, those guys were really in the pocket; it was delightful to see Rusty, Brian, Abe, Wix all singing more, Paul sounded kind of rough and sexy, scintillating but still pulled out some of the old familiar vocal sweetness for certain numbers and looked very manly, and the whole thing was really fun !
