Paul McCartney 2017 Rumors
-
I asked the trustworthy Fans on the Run & they told me that the current speculation is Australia (as we all knew) & Japan. Appears to be the most sensible options for him next year just now. He's always a massive success in Japan, selling out the Tokyo Dome for three nights. And I imagine if the promoters push the Australian tour a lot it'll be huge considering the Rolling Stones sold out 8 shows in Australia & New Zealand. Hope you Australians get some shows, you guys deserve it! All the best for 2017

Not sure this rumor should be 2016 or 2017. But I hear that Paul might have a tv appearance on 12/31. Not sure what it's about..................but I have a sneaking suspicion

and that date just happens to be a Saturday night.

UK or US tv? Or perhaps Australia? He's in St. Barts at the moment but of course he could do a remote or fly somewhere if needed.

Jools' Hootenanny is always recorded weeks before broadcast. This year it took place at 7 December. The last few years all details slipped out after recording, and the announced line-up for this year is: Chaka Khan, Christine and the Queens, Roy Wood, Rag'n'Bone Man, Gregory Porter, Martin Fry's ABC, Dr. John Cooper Clarke & Hugh Cornwell, Caravan Palace, Ali Campbell, Astro and Mickey from UB40, Imelda May, Ruby Turner, and the Pipes and Drums of the 1st Battalion Scots Guards. Any big US NYE shows?

If not the US, maybe it's somewhere unexpected?

There isn't a new SNL on this Saturday night, just a repeat 12:30-2:04 am, so it's not that.

I was at the O2 last year as well, celebrating my 50th birthday, and was shocked with Temporary Secretary. I can remember listening to it on the album when I was 15. I admit it took me a few seconds to recognize it and then explain it to my wife. Of the 5 times I have seen Paul live, the show at the O2 was by far the best. An unforgettable evening. We had floor seats about 25 rows from the stage. Hopefully there will be more shows beginning early 2017

Hi! I see we were at the same show in 1993 and a day apart in 2002. I missed the 2005 show as I had 2 kids in college then and thought it was too expensive! Ha! Then I end up doing 2 sound checks in 2013 and 2014!

Personally I think he should stay off the tv performances, I love Paul & his live shows but his tv performances don't do him any favours. As the Jubilee, Olympics & SNL (last year in April), weren't great performances & people have their set views on him when he performs. He performed New on a few UK shows, which were good but sadly no one talked about how it was good. It's only the bad performances that get noticed. But I do hope I get to see Paul next year with his new album on the go

Although I have loose basis for my feeling, I think it might be an announcement in regards to touring in April.......but that is just a guess. Not sure if he's left St Bart's yet so don't know if a live appearance is practical. It info is good, I'm guessing taped announcement.

You might be onto something. No TV show is live at NYE, and if a performance was taped prior to his vacation, I guess we would've heard it by now. An announcement 3+ months in advance though?!

As I have said, could turn out to be bunk but my friend has a decent track record and was quite confident. Too early to ask my #1

I have high hopes! With the new album scheduled for next year, I'm excited about 2017.

This one is: http://abc.go.com/shows/new-years-rockin-eve Tho I doubt he would come back to NYC for it; he IS in St. Barts now, or at least he was a day or two ago when the photos were published. My guess based on Bob's comments about an April tour would be for Australia; the US would not need a big, fancy announcement since he tours here all the time. Australia would need a big, fancy announcement.

Australia would not only NEED but DESERVE a big fancy announcement.

But isn't some of that show taped ahead of time on the west coast? Yeah, starting at 1 am EST or so it says "bicoastal celebration."
-
Maybe it's a formal album announcement
-
If rumor is correct, it'll be Japan tv on New Year's. What it will be, still question. I definitely advise caution as not from one of my good sources. Plus I tried to independently confirm the info with a net search and nothing. So take all with grain of salt! Guess we'll find out soon!
