That is cheaper by $10 than Paul’s store + I think they have free shipping and Paul doesn’t.

WOW not another wallet busting  BOX set. Just shelled out for Wild Life deluxe and White Album deluxe but baulked at Red Rose Speedway deluxe's extra cost (but probably will get eventually) Now this  comes along.  I think I will have to pass.

Listen to the song they sing,
            Awakening

There's going to be a less expensive set coming out shortly. This is crazy though...so many versions.

Seemslike a big let down from what I read on another forum.

The “ big surprise” being a usb drive with videos of the 4 songs performed live and wav files of the “ old “ bonus tracks since they are not on the cd. Still not clear whether they are on ES Vinyl 2.

So glad I cancelled as soon as Explorer was announced. I ordered the 3LP coloured vinyl with all the bonus tracks and - hopefully a download card.

oh...and the number is on the paper tags not on the suitcase itself which is pretty lame for a strictly limited to3000 worldwide edition.

There may be a POWER CUT and maybe I love you so, me I love you so, me I love you soooo....

I should wait until it arrives before complaining, but everything I am reading and seeing on another forum is a huge letdown.  It looks like, as I suspected, that there isn't even a CD version of the Egypt Station II album.  I have the tracks now in HD form, but it blows me away that I would still have to buy the Explorers Edition to be able to listen to these in a CD player.  All the little trinkets they included, and they couldn't bother to add another CD.  I was hopeful about the potential surprises to somehow justify the price tag, but the USB with very little to add is disappointing.

I'm sure it will be a cool collection.  It's just when you itemize an approximate value for the individual pieces included, it doesn't seem to even remotely add up to price.  But yet, ultimately it sold out, so I guess that takes away my argument that it was overpriced.

I will still enjoy it I'm sure, but this one will make me think twice in the future.  That being said, on to (hopefully) an Abbey Road box and a Wings 78-79 box this year.  Oh, and now Egypt Station Explorers Edition so I can get my CD copy of the extra tracks.

Not necessarily. Its probably more the case that a lot of folks have ordered a product without fully knowing what that product consisted of. Your argument is actually quite sound.

My suitcase arrived this morning via UPS and it's more substantial in size and weight than I presumed, too large to display except maybe on top of a bookcase.  It's limited to 3,000 numbered sets, so it's a collectable, albeit  very pricey.   Behind the letter inside the lid is a flap, and when you open it, there's a thick foam Egypt Station logo.

How could they not know what they were ordering? Everything was meticulously listed on Paul’s website and Music Vaultz’ website. It was clear that the new songs were on vinyl, not CD. There was plenty of time to cancel the pre-order if not happy. I cancelled on Paul’s website and was immediately refunded the $395+ they charged ($35 was for shipping, GA state and local taxes) Pre-ordered from Music Vaultz and they will charge no extra fees, just $355 U.S. when it ships.

No, the "surprise" USB drive was not advertised anywhere. That is the item that no one knew about. People were hoping for more.

Everyone is talking about a USB Drive.  Is it hidden in the box?  Cannot find a USB in my suitcase anywhere.  Would appreciate help in locating this.

It said that there would be surprises (not “big” surprises) with regards to music/video. You can look it up on either website under the description of the product.

It’s perfectly alright to release an overpriced collectors edition  - no ones forced to buy it ( I cancelled mine )

However there are certain aspects - let me call them issues of “common decency”

Even if Get enough, get started, nothing for free would have been included in the travelllers ES Vinyl 2....

Even if the CD included all bonus tracks on a 2nd cd ....

even if the number was written - or better still engraved - on the suitcase and not just printed on paper tags....

the Traveller would still be overpriced. But that would have been OK.

It is the calculating that those 3000 hardcore fans who paid 360€ for the Traveller will have to go on buying the Explorer in order to get all bonus tracks on vinyl or cd to make their collection complete that I personally find despicable. Actually not true - it’s just very sad and unworthy of Paul.

There may be a POWER CUT and maybe I love you so, me I love you so, me I love you soooo....

                                        It was $360 U.S. not € 😉 (So price “only” €320.59)

I'm sure it will be a cool collection.  It's just when you itemize an approximate value for the individual pieces included, it doesn't seem to even remotely add up to price.  But yet, ultimately it sold out, so I guess that takes away my argument that it was overpriced.

Not necessarily. Its probably more the case that a lot of folks have ordered a product without fully knowing what that product consisted of. Your argument is actually quite sound.

How could they not know what they were ordering? Everything was meticulously listed on Paul’s website and Music Vaultz’ website. It was clear that the new songs were on vinyl, not CD. There was plenty of time to cancel the pre-order if not happy.

Regarding an earlier comment from Frank (re: The “ big surprise” being a usb drive with videos of the 4 songs performed live and wav files of the “ old “ bonus tracks since they are not on the cd.), was that made clear on Paul's website? Or the Music Vultz' website?

It said that there would be surprises (not “big” surprises) with regards to music/video. You can look it up on either website under the description of the product.

“Additional rare performances and videos hidden inside!”

                                          ”Plus hidden “Track Logo” rarity...”
