Paul McCartney 2012 Rumours
-
Maybe Paul is so bitter about his performance at the opening ceremony and wants to take revenge on everyone who criticised him about it he's decided the next tour will be a setlist of 35 Hey Judes. Wow! Thanks for the massive shake up, Paul!

With the Frog Chorus as both encore sets.
And the Jimi Hendrix story told after each Hey Jude. Paul's going to have to spend agesssss working out in what order to put the 35 Hey Judes in!

I hear the "George was a good ukulele player, you know" story will start each Hey Jude, as well. I think we'll have a rowdy debate as to which Hey Jude should appear where in the setlist. Prepare for a good debate, folks!

He'll be downright drunk by the end of the show.

When I first saw Paul live in 2009 at the O2 I was so happy that he was pleased with the crowd that he wanted to drink it all in. Than I saw the Good Evening NYC DVD a few days later! :

It's funny, because I really hate that bit but...he's only done it once that I remember seeing, and that was Yankee Stadium.

It's standard fare now. He didn't do it often before the last, what, 2 tours? Maybe 3?

Now that I think about it the in between songs dialogue in a lot of ways I find more annoying than set list choices, how many times do we have to hear him say the same things over and over again! I imagine for some concert goers it must start to feel like the film groundhog day after a while!

There was a group of six or seven college-aged guys at Yankee Stadium right behind me, who had a great time telling the stories about 10 seconds before Paul did, every story. And they were right, every time. They also shouted, "What about Ringo!!" after Paul did tributes to John and George. One of them shouted, "Don't Pass Me By" at the top of his lungs to much laughter from the rest of us.

I collect a lot of audience filmed DVDs of the shows & yes...every one is the same. O.M.G.

Word for word. We can all tell them.

Good idea for a thread, actually...here I go! ETA: I just started a poll on our favorite "spontaneous" between-song banter. Have at it!

So, does Paul leading an impromptu "Hey Jude" singalong at one of the Olympic events today count as a concert? If so, here's the setlist: Paul Olympic Park, London August, 2012 Setlist: Hey Jude Encore: **** Second Encore: **** And here many of us thought he's never drop "Yesterday" from his setlist.
To all those who are crying for Paul to change his set list, he sure did for this one!! Be careful what you ask for.

I mentioned several times how a bit of spontaneity wouldn't hurt Paul's shows. They're too damned scripted! And back to the rumour thread...

In '02 they looked like a bunch of young dudes backing up their favorite uncle; now they all look the same age. Paul must be taking some kind of wonder-tonic-elixir or something.
